I remember this Thanksgiving like it was yesterday. We had so much fun together just hanging out at the table, chatting and being silly.

Thanks for looking! Have a crafty week! I need a crafty week too!
I remember this Thanksgiving like it was yesterday. We had so much fun together just hanging out at the table, chatting and being silly.
Just got back from a work trip to Florida, yesterday. We stayed an extra few days on Amelia Island. The weather was pretty tolerable for Florida. It was actually cooler there than it's been here in NE Indiana!
I'm jumping right back into the blogging routine and have another travel layout to share with you today.
This mountain scenery is unbelievable, in spite of the residual smoke that drifted in from the California wildfires. We love the tradition of picking apples together. Lately, it's just been hard to get our crew together for various reason. Of course, I love to document the family fun!
This apple picking party was a from a few years back. Honestly, we haven't all been able to do it again since then. Life can be complicated and hard sometimes.
I love the vintage, distressed paper! Maybe because I'm vintage, and also distressed. 😜 As much as I love working with a pack of matching designer paper, I feel accomplished when I can go through my stash and find coordinating scraps that will work together in a layout. That's what I did here. I'm pretty happy with the results.I cut the title with my Cricut and added checkered red washi tape vertically to give it some pop. The red and white baker's twine adds texture. I created this way before I started doing most of my journaling with my Cricut, so you'll all have to suffer through my handwriting.
Hope you are enjoying this season. What's not to love, except today it is a little rainy and dreary! Time to break out all the pumpkin and apple recipes, a pot of chili, and sit by the fire.
How is it the middle of September??? Of course, my favorite month and season is suddenly upon us, and seems like it is slipping away too quickly.
Yesterday was my birthday! Yikes! Those keep rolling like a slot machine, but I'm so grateful for each day and year the Lord gives me. We celebrated by eating Mexican together, followed by cake and ice cream at our house. Our big kids and their wives were tossing the football in the yard. It touched my heart to see them having fun together. It was my favorite part of the day! Our 9 year old grandson is building some great skills at throwing and catching the football too. You should have seen the smile on his face!
In honor of my birthday, I'm posting a layout from a few years back. Why do I scrapbook my own birthday? Well, because some day, these photos might mean something to the generations to come. I hope they do, but if they don't....I still had fun scrapping and preserving them. These pics are from my birthday 3 years ago.
Here's another layout from our Wyoming trip in 2020. The Teton Village is just outside the entrance for the Teton National Park. Our group stayed at The Terra Hotel. It was beautiful and we loved our stay there. In fact, I'd like to book another meeting there in the future with one of our groups. There were lots of other accommodations available, as well as some shopping and eateries. Of course, the Teton Mountain Range is the most scenic back drop for the entire area!
This was a pretty simple layout. All pictures were matted on white for definition and I added black and white washi tape to highlight a few of the pictures. I like the black and white with the green plaid patterned paper. Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a lovely rest of the week!
I am so behind in sharing my layouts! In September 2020, we had a wonderful opportunity to visit Wyoming!! Our hotel was right near the Grand Teton National Park. There was so much wildlife to see, not to mention the incredible Teton Mountain Range.
Here's a layout from our first day exploring. We saw a moose right away!
The patterned paper is Close to My Heart "Aurora" with some washi tape from Recollections.I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream!! The perfect summer time treat. This place is a favorite here in town. We try to visit at least once every summer, but again, we've not been over there yet this season. Look at these faces! My favorites!
Here's a sunnier layout from our quick trip to Florida. Last one!! We were able to take a quick trip to the beach to just soak up some of the warmth before flying back to freezing Fort Wayne.
The paper is American Craft's "Explore", and Echo Park's "Good Day Sunshine" and "Happy Camper". I love the whimsical cameras and the fun colors. The title stickers are Close to My Heart's "Blue Skies". I used a mish-mash of different products, but love the way they all work great together.
That's the last of the photos from our Florida trip! Thanks for stopping by. Hope these inspire you in some crafty way. Have a blessed weekend!
One page layouts are unusual for me, but I did several from our short time in Florida for a Memorial Service for my Aunt and Uncle in 2021. These photos highlight our view and hotel surroundings.
It's a great hotel, and I hope we will go back again some day. Maybe we'll actually be able to enjoy the pool. It was a little brisk for that this time around. So beautiful to look at, though. We enjoyed watching the pelicans and the ducks hanging out around the little marina.Does anybody still get the newspaper? Probably not many get it every day, if at all, anymore. I know we don't. It was a hard sell to my husband to cancel the subscription, but he finally realized he didn't really have the time to read it.
Back in 2017, our then 4 year old granddaughter made the newspaper!!! It was pretty exciting, of course! This was actually the second time she made the newspaper. She's that awesome!
I wanted to preserve the article for future generations to see, but it was hard to come up with an idea of how to best use it in a my scrapbook album, but I thought this turned out cute. Maybe this will give you an idea, just in case you still have any old newspaper articles waiting to be scrapped.
This layout was created quite awhile ago. My creative skills have improved since then, but bare with me as I post an oldy but a goody!
Isn't she just adorable?!? The joy on her face makes me smile. And...who wouldn't love to have some of this 76 degree weather right now??Here's another Covid layout for your scrapbook inspiration. I know many have a hard time looking back at the pandemic. I totally get that. I had Covid, and it was probably the worst I've ever felt. I also my Aunt and Uncle within 8 days of each other. It was an awful time for so many. I try to scrap just about everything. I'm also trying to look back at it in a positive way.
I like the title on this page. I'm not sure where I got the idea. Maybe it is the colors from this page that make it more likeable. The photos are just some random things that we did to keep our sanity while we were all staying home. DIY sanitizing wipes, when we could find the right ingredients; cleaning, because, you know, what else are we going to do; catching up with the neighbors while still keeping our distance; and realizing how lazy our dog is all day long....fun stuff!😂Today I'm sharing another layout from the sunflower field photo shoot a few years ago. This one features my sweet, and super smart grandson! This little man is such a blessing!
Just look at him! What a little stinker. They were both enjoying all the attention.
This is one for his album. He enjoys looking at his book almost as much as his Sissy. I really need to add to it more often!! Slacker Grandma.
The paper, journaling card and zip strip are from Close to My Heart "Dream Big" collection. I cut the title with my Cricut. I added some little banners and woodgrain pieces from my scraps and the buttons and markers are StampinUp! I added a little bit of narrow sunflower washi tape to attach the journaling card on the side.
This is a really simple layout, but I absolutely love it, mainly because my favorite people are gracing the pages with smiles.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Enjoy this amazing fall weather!
As I look back at this layout, I think of more that I might have added and possibly some pops of black, but I'm still proud of it and hope you are inspired in some way by it.
Have a lovely week!
It's always a treat to get one-on-one time with the grandkids, one at a time. They are fun together, but it's great to be able to concentrate on each of them separately in a way that makes them feel extra special. These pictures are of our grandson enjoying time with us at the park. It won't be long and they won't want to spend that much time with their "old" grandparents. 😢 This layout is from a few years back.
I love these two fun papers together. They're all boy just like he is.Happy Summer! I think everybody is ready to get out and GO!! Somewhere...Anywhere! These pictures remind me of the absolute beauty of our country. We'll be heading up to Lake Michigan next month, and I can't wait!! Until then, I will enjoy reliving these family memories from a few years back.
Holland, MI is one of our favorite Lake Michigan towns. We were amazed by the sunsets we saw during this trip. My husband captured this sunburst picture as we were making our way into the tunnel at Tunnel Park just as the sun was going down.
Hello friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I'm absorbing the sunshine through the window today as I work from home for the week.
Today, I'm sharing another layout from one of our recent trips to Lake Michigan for a quick family getaway. It was only for a long weekend, but it was so much fun and these photos bring all the great memories back to me.
