Happy Halloween - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Halloween is not my favorite holiday, but I do enjoy a few things about it. Greeting the neighbors, seeing it through my grandkids eyes, and nice fall weather.

Poor Sawyer was sick this year, so we missed seeing him dressed up. My son actually is a police officer, so his costume is legit!
This picture, bottom right (above) was the view from our porch. Lots of fun stuff happening in the neighborhood. This was four years ago, and we didn't have quite as many trick or treaters this year.
I'm not sure of the paper line, but how cute are these little bats, witch, and spider web stickers. I don't normally use a lot of stickers, but this was such a cute collection.

Thanks for checking out my Halloween layout!

The Stand - Two Page Ice Cream Scrapbook Layout

I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream!! The perfect summer time treat. This place is a favorite here in town. We try to visit at least once every summer, but again, we've not been over there yet this season. Look at these faces! My favorites!

The Stand has a vintage vibe to it, so I played into that theme with my paper and embellishments. The paper is PhotoPlay's "Birthday Girl Wishes" along with some vertical strips of scraps, lined with Paper Studio red chevron washi.

The ice cream cone, title and stars are from Cricut's design space.
That cone looks pretty tasty. I even found an embossed paper scrap in my stash to use. What are the odds?
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a great week.

Meow - One Page Scrapbook Layout

I typically scarp two page layouts, but sometimes there just aren't enough pictures to warrant a two page spread.

We were taking care of our youngest son and DIL's kitties while they were out of town. The grands got a kick out of playing with the kitties.

This is a super simple layout using WeRMemory Keepers "Just Chillin" and Premier "The Optimist", along with some miscellaneous card stock and StampinUp's photo corner punch to add a little additional blue to the layout. That's it!

Thanks for checking out my layout.

Grow - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Are you enjoying your summer? It seems to be flying by a little quickly for me.

One of my non-crafting hobbies is house plants. I do like to dabble with planting outside flowers. Mainly in pots on the front porch. Nothing like a full garden of flowers. That's too much of a time and attention commitment for me. Unfortunately, this year, we haven't even gotten around to filling our outside planters. It's kind of embarrassing! I just haven't carved out time for it. We hope to get to it once we get back from our upcoming work trip. Hopefully there will still be a decent selection of flowers left at the greenhouses, but I'm not holding my breath.

In years past, we've planted fairy gardens with our grands!! We didn't even get that done yet! I'm hoping it can still happen this season. I don't know if they've missed it, but we have!
These are pics of our fairy and pirate gardens from 2020. Didn't the kids do a great job?? They look pretty proud of their creations. Every year, I cave in and buy her another fairy. I mean, can you really have too many fairies in one garden? 😍 Some of her fairies have migrated into our house and enjoying my house plants. They seem to be content, for now.
Our grandson used pirate toys and two different colors of pebbles to cover the potting soil. So fun!

The paper is BoBunny's "Zip A Dee Doodle" and American Crafts "Lucky Charm". I am crushing on green and blue lately.

I used a tiny bit of my Mom's old yellow measuring tape for a pop of yellow.💗 If you zoom in on it, you will see that is made of fabric and has stitching on it. They don't make it like that any more. I still miss her so much!! She was a master seamstress and sewing was one of her happy places! For more yellow, I added some SU washi tape at the top of a pic and a yellow button on the watering can.

Hope you are feeling inspired today. Have a scrappy week!

One Big Happy Family - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Here's another layout from our Easter celebration in 2018. This was our first Easter at our new house. We decided to take some family pics in front of the fireplace.
I didn't use your typical pastel Easter colors for this layout, but instead used some family-themed paper which really seemed to fit the pictures. Again, the mixing of the patterns is something I adore.
We are so blessed to have our grown kids and grandchildren living in the same town within 20 minutes of our home. I wish our parents had been that close when our kids were young, but we are the ones who moved from our hometown in Michigan to Indiana as a young couple. We had no idea what that would mean once we started our family!  It was a 3 hour trip that we made hundreds of times over the years, and our parents did too. We made it work, even though it had it's hardships.
All of that to say, we are so grateful for our family. They mean the world to us!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a great week!!

Happy Easter - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Hope you made it through your Easter quarantine with a smile on your face. I will admit, it was a struggle for me. We are so used to hosting dinners for our grown kids. I miss seeing their faces around my table. We have seen each other, but it's definitely not been the same. But Easter isn't about family, going to our church building, traditions, or a special dinner. It's really about what Jesus did on the cross for us! I tried to keep that in my focus.
These pictures are from our first Easter celebration at our new house!! Love having a little more space for everybody. Coloring eggs is something we try to do together each year...Something we didn't get to do together this year.
There is really not much to this simple layout. I love to mix patterned paper, so that part was a no-brainer. All of these embellishments came with this pretty spring stack of paper. The title was cut from Design Space.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. More layouts from Easters' past to share this week.

Thanksgiving Treats

Here's a super quick little treat box I made for my grandchildren so they would have something to eat for Thanksgiving dinner other than their roll and deviled egg! Seriously, though, I wish they liked more things, but it's pretty typical of kids and even many adults that I know.
I think they turned out pretty cute! I filled them with mini peanut butter crackers and Goldfish.

Everything was cut with images I found in Design Space. I used the fry box and scored it myself (I need one of those scoring blades), then ran it through my embossing machine to make it look like feathers. The feathers were cut with various scraps I had, and  I used circle and triangle shapes for the eyes and nose. I found a gobble on a turkey image, ungrouped it, and sized it for my turkey face. Really pretty simple and pretty darn cute. It doesn't stand up especially well, but that doesn't bother me.

Hope your Thanksgiving is blessed with family, food, and fun! Take time to be grateful and count all of your blessings!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Easter Blessings"

I'm not sure how I've had this Easter layout for 4 whole years and not shared it until now! I try to post my layouts during the appropriate season of the year and apparently I forget to post at Easter time.
Some of my most favorite people are in these photos, but for some reason I'm not a big fan of how the layout turned out. Of course, I had to share it anyway because of my cute little grand bunnies on the page!
They're all spiffed up for church! Don't they look precious? The long piece along the bottom is folded randomly to give it some texture and depth. The banners in the top corners are from leftover scraps. I try to hang on to scraps that are at least 4 x 4 so that I can use them for things like this. It's amazing to find so many random pieces that work well together on a page.
We are blessed to have our two boys living so close to us. Both are within 15 minutes of our home! We all typically have dinner together every Sunday evening. Sometimes it's a little crazy and chaotic, but that's what family is sometimes and we love EVERY minute we have. You just never know when life can change drastically. We will all be together tomorrow (including my youngest and his wife) for Easter dinner. I just finished making our traditional Italian Crème Cake. I pretty much destroyed it, but it's amazing what a lot of yummy cream cheese frosting will do to patch a messy cake back together. :) I'm sure it will taste amazing and nobody will even know what a nightmare it was trying to get it out of the pan. Ugh!

If you celebrate Easter, I pray yours will be full of blessings, family, and sweet memories! I thank God for being my LIVING Savior. He is so good!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Hugs & Kisses"

These two little munchkins have my heart!! I can't believe I haven't shared this one before now. I must have blinked because now they're 4 and 6 years old.
These two are the most adorable and precious handful EVER! This Grandma gig is truly a joy!
This was Valentines Day 2015. I created special treat bags for them both. Scarlet's was an owl and Sawyer's a fox. Sissy seems to like Sawyer's cars in this picture as much as she liked her pink unicorn.
I raised two boys (no girls), so the pink lace, washi and other feminine touches were pretty new to me at that time!! 😍They'll never get old!! Poor Sawyer will just have to deal with it, I guess. And who knew how cute it would be to just fold over some ribbon or ball fringe and attach it randomly to a page.Except for the sweet faces, it may be my favorite part of the layout.
Happy Valentines Day!! Go squeeze somebody you love! Pamper yourself and your loved ones! ❤❤❤

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Holly Jolly"

A few years back we took the grandkids to the Street of Lights show in Marion, IN. It's a bit of a drive, but usually they're excited and don't mind it.
These pics are from two years ago. We wanted it to be an annual event, but we never got around to doing it in 2017 since we were in the process of moving from our house of 28 years to a brand new dream home. Let's just say it was a crazy fall, winter and holiday season!
But, our outing is planned again for this Friday night! They'll spend the night with us and we'll celebrate Christmas with the whole family the next morning at our house. It will be a brunch, but we'll still need to have our ducks in a row. You know, like having the presents all wrapped and the food all made in advance. LOL!
I'm so looking forward to having them over again. It's a little easier at our new home since we have more space for them. Can't wait to see the lights together and a special treat of some kind on the way home. Love these two so much! They are such a blessing to us!!
