Adventure - Two page Travel Scrapbook Layout

Here's another layout from our Grant Tetons trip in Wyoming (2020). Every day was such a beautiful adventure for us!

There is so much wildlife to see in their natural habitat! And the landscape itself is something to behold.
Simple clouds and sun were an easy add to the page. Actually, the sun all the way behind the clouds would have been more accurate for this particular day. 😕

The stamps are the Close to My Heart "Aurora" set. Instructions are given to cut the paper in the right size to frame the stamp. Love this!  I used the CTMH Sapphire ink pad, and also cut a slightly larger mat. The Sapphire ink pad must have been nice and juicy and it came our really bright. I used the square punch (Creative Memories) to cut around the antler stamp. I journaled with my Cricut in Design Space and placed a bracket shape around it, attached and cut/wrote all at the same time, and placed a larger mat to frame the journaling.
The paper is Heidi Swapp "Wolf Pack". The photo corner punch (StampinUp!)  is what actually makes the page for me. It's funny how one little element can be a game-changer.

I really love the plaid with the birch bark paper. The navy mountains were also cut in Design Space to sit on top of the plaid and create a place for my title.
I really like this layout, and LOVE the green and blue together, especially the plaid. I certainly could have layered additional embellishments around the pics, stamps and journaling, but I didn't want to cover up all the pretty paper. 😂

Have a great weekend! I hope to share some more layouts with you next week.

Let's Go Fly a Kite - two page summer scrapbook layout

We just came back from a work trip in Florida.  It was hard to escape the excessive heat and humidity, but it made the pool feel that much more refreshing!

Are you enjoying your summer? It's slipping away quickly.

I decided to take a little break from posting my travel pictures to a summer layout featuring my adorable grands! They're the best. I love that this layout helps me hang on to the memories of this day from 2020.

I love the accents on this page, from the kite to the clouds!
The paper is Simple Stories "We are Family" and Close to My Heart "These are my People", along with some Recollections cardstock.
My favorite part about the page (aside from my beautiful grandchildren) is the simple layout, and the fun embellishments.
We had a great day flying a kite, playing with fairy gardens and Hot Wheels, and soaking up some rays.

Hope you are inspired to be creative today, or to spend some extra time with your grands. Have a fun week!

Big News - One Page Newspaper Clipping Layout

Does anybody still get the newspaper? Probably not many get it every day, if at all, anymore. I know we don't. It was a hard sell to my husband to cancel the subscription, but he finally realized he didn't really have the time to read it.

Back in 2017, our then 4 year old granddaughter made the newspaper!!! It was pretty exciting, of course! This was actually the second time she made the newspaper. She's that awesome!

I wanted to preserve the article for future generations to see, but it was hard to come up with an idea of how to best use it in a my scrapbook album, but I thought this turned out cute. Maybe this will give you an idea, just in case you still have any old newspaper articles waiting to be scrapped.

This layout was created quite awhile ago. My creative skills have improved since then, but bare with me as I post an oldy but a goody!

Isn't she just adorable?!? The joy on her face makes me smile. And...who wouldn't love to have some of this 76 degree weather right now??

The heart patterned paper made a good backdrop for the article. I matted the article twice, and lined it up with some striped ribbon, and a strip of washi tape below. The puffy clouds were inked around the edges and added above, because that's where clouds belong. 😂 The ribbon flower was purchased by the yard and cut apart for a birthday banner that I made for the same sweet baby girl. I added a few quote strips, pennants, and strips of paper, and boom...this BIG news article was preserved for future generations.

Hope this inspires you to do something crafty with your old news clippings! Good luck!

Pirate Golf - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

It's been awhile since I've posted. I was struggling with a health issue and then away on a work trip in Colorado...more future scrapbook material!! Back at the blogging today!

This is a fun layout of our sibling getaway weekend from a few years back. We are so blessed that our family gets along, and actually enjoys each other's company! I know it's not like that for everybody. On this day, we were playing some competitive miniature golf. Well, I'm not very competitive at this game, but everybody else is way better at it than I am.

I love the "realistic" looking and grungy cloud paper as a backdrop to our outdoor fun. The outside paper strips came from the same paper stack, so of course, match perfectly. I cut the title and hat with my Cricut. The hat was a fairly close match to our statue friend's hat. I slightly overlapped the title with the hat to give it a layered and whimsical look.
I think my favorite part, aside from the pictures of our beloved family, is how the red and black pennants set off the colors of the page and ground the layout.
I also used a patterned paper to add a narrow matt around each picture. Wallet size photos help me tell the story with even more pictures, because there is never enough room. The journal tag adds to the graphic look with the black and white stripes.

Hope you enjoy your Independence Day!! May God continue to bless America, the land of the free because of the brave!

Ioa Valley - Two Page Hawaii Scrapbook Layout

Hawaii is one of those places that will take your breath away around every corner. Iao Valley Rainforest was so beautiful and lush!! We took so many pictures, but for the sake of keeping our entire trip in one album, I only picked a few for a two page layout.

The green foliage, white puffy clouds, and bright blue sky were so beautiful, it was hard to take it all in at once!! You could feel the humidity in the air, after all it is a rain forest. It was so pristine and beautifully kept up.
All of this paper came in one beautiful tropical stack. I think I used most of it for my Hawaii album. I love using a paper pack because they all pair together so well, it's hard to go wrong.
I cut some puffy clouds, and a layered sun, and added some ombre teal decorative tape with gold hearts. Seven full size pictures (digital size) was a good fit for the page, but they still don't do justice to the views.
We enjoyed our walk through the rain forest, and if we ever get back to Maui, we will definitely visit again.

Sawyer turns 5! - Two Page Birthday Layout

Hooray! Today is our Grandson's 6th birthday! We are so excited to celebrate with him tonight, even though the celebration may not look like it has in the past. We will make sure he knows how amazing he is and how much we love him!! 😍😍😍

Here's another layout of his fifth birthday last year. I love the pennant paper and the perfect boy colors in this layout.
He's a very lucky little man to have so much family around to love on him! We had such a great time celebrating 5 years and all of the energy that comes with that. Our grands help us feel more young at heart and see things through their eyes. What a gift!
The paper is Photo Play's "Birthday Boy". I was so torn between which side of the paper to use? Do you ever feel like that? The other side had an aqua background with presents and cupcakes. I decided to go with this side because of the white background which allowed me to use the teal cloud paper.😍 I also used BoBuny's "Lemonade Stand" and "Mango/Luau Lime". I used my Cricut to cut the green scallops, scalloped circle and the title. I cut out their cute puppy (Archie) and propped him in the corner of the pictures, just because he's so handsome!

Thanks for stopping by today! I have lots more layouts lined up to share in April...a few more birthdays and Easter. And...I hope you are all super impressed that I'm less than a year behind on my scrap-booking. If I was completely current, I wouldn't have anything to work on, and I don't even want to know what that would be like. 😟

Stop back soon! In the meantime, stay at home and be safe. We'll get through this together.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Pool Time"

As promised, here's my pool layout. 😀 We have so much fun together! This pool looks so inviting right now with the heat wave we've had going on. Guess we need our own pool. 😎

These pictures are from time with our extended family in Michigan two summers back. We don't get to see our TX family very often, so it's always a special time together when they are able to join in the fun.
Doesn't this look inviting? I used some fun patterned paper for the title to jazz up the plain background. The washi tape and white puffy clouds seemed like the perfect addition. I doodled around the edges of the clouds and sun with a white gel pen. The center of the sun is popped out with dimensionals.
These pictures are from two years ago and so much has changed since then. It is so bittersweet to see them all grow up. My youngest son wasn't even married yet in these pictures, my Mom was still alive, and my youngest grandchild wasn't even in pre-school yet. Time sure does fly!!
Feeling super blessed by my family!! Hope you enjoyed checking out my pool layout. Thanks for stopping by!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "You Rock"

My youngest son really enjoyed his time away at college. He was blessed to serve as a Resident Assistant during his Junior year at Ball State University, Muncie, IN.
He had to report to school a little early, but we took him to Red Robin fist to celebrate this great accomplishment.
Love this paper and embellishmnts from My Minds Eye "Cut and Paste collection. The title cut is from Cricut's "Jubilee" cartridge.
He was placed in one of the swankiest dorms!
My son loves to bike so this bike sticker was the perfect addition to the page.

I wonder if I need to update my blogger! It's not letting me resize my photos for some reason. If you want to see the pictures bigger, you can click on them. Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Two Page Layout - "Play All Day"

Here's one more layout from the park last summer. Yes, this makes three double layouts from the park last year, but who's counting. =) It was one of those fun days where the pictures turned out and the memories were precious and scrap-worthy.
The paper is My Minds Eye "Collectable" and Basic Grey "What's Up" (cloud paper). I love the color combination. Definitely cute enough paper to show off the fantastic pictures of my family.
The title fonts are both from Cricut's Lyrical Letters and the clouds are from Graphically Speaking. I love all the banners and brads and all the pictures that I got on here. =)
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Enjoy your week!

Two page layouts - "Sleepy Head" and "Bundle of Joy"

Hello scrappy friends! I have just enough time for a quick post and today, it's two for the price of one because it's been awhile.

First up is "Sleepy Head". This layout was really out of the box for me. I fell in love with the doodle-look paper and then I had a little bit of trouble trying to figure out how to make it work. In the end, I was happy with it.

Left side:  Most of these doodles were all on the paper. How fun!!I had some leftover glitter tulle for rolling up some fun flowers. They are a little thicker than what I normally put on a page, but super cute.

Right side: I was not in love with this page until I used the texture folder on the red cardstock. That made all the diference. I freehanded some clouds to match the doodled clouds on the opposite page. The pink and red on one page was a bit of a challenge for me...but now I am pleased with it.
Here's a closeup of the tulle button flowers. I used clear gemstones, but colored them with sharpies for more of an impact.
Here are the two sides together. My grandbaby is such a DOLL!! We sure are enjoying her.

Next up...Bundle of Joy. This layout is from when she was fresh out of the NICU. I believe it was our first visit to their house after they brought her home....so fresh and sweet!!

Left:  Most everything on this page is from the Bundle of Joy paper pack (Echo Park). I added the Tim Holtz washi tape and the lace at the top. These are my two boys lovin' on Scarlet....Proud papa Joel is in the upper right and lower left. Uncle Jacob sure does love her too. =)

Right:  More borders and embellishments from the Bundle of Joy pack. I love these pictures of my son and daugher-in-law standing on the front porch of their home with their new and precious bundle of joy. They were so happy to bring her home!!! It brings tears to my eyes just remembering all of the emotion.

Here are the two sides together.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!! Have a great weekend!
