Hazy Sunset - Two Page Travel Sunset Scrapbook Layout

Here it is! The last layout from our trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the Grand Tetons. It's taken awhile to get through all of these, but we made it!

As previously mentioned, there was a thick, smoky haze over the mountains while we were there, unfortunately. Not a clear, crisp view, but WOW! I love a good sunset and this was beautiful in it's own way.

The paper is Close to My Heart's "Aurora". How perfect! All of the embellishments were cut with my Cricut in Design Space.

Thanks for sharing this amazing trip with me! I hope you take the time to visit the Grand Teton area. I've been blessed with some amazing trips, thanks to being a meeting planner. This has been one of my favorites!

I'll be back soon. Not sure what I'll be sharing next! It will be a surprise for both of us.

Midway Geyser Basin - Two Page Travel Scrapbook Layout

I'm back with another layout from our Grand Tetons trip. I can't believe this was 4 years ago. I'm very slow to post layouts, but I'm getting it done now!
This layout is from the Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone! It was so crowded! It was the middle of Covid and people were trying to get out into nature, even with throngs of others. It didn't bother us, though, because we were outside. It felt normal to be out traveling. It was frustrating to find decent parking, though.
The paper is from Close to My Heart "Timber" and Simple Stories "Color Vibe". I created my own title, skooching the letters together and welding to just have one piece to attach. I'm not sure how we survived the years of attaching separate letters (alpha stickers!) before we could create and design our own titles! It was brutal! The Adventure Outside stamp is from Close to My Heart and was inked with a StampinUp marker.
I used some denim self adhesive washi tape for additional texture. I wish I would have matched the title color to this shade of blue. You know what they say about hindsight...

Thanks for stopping by for my last few layouts from the Grand Teton! Have a great weekend!

Danger - Too Close - Two Page Travel Scrapbook Layout

Hello! It's been a beautiful day filled with mostly sunshine and warm temperatures. Not that I was outside much, but it was a wonderful Work From Home Wednesday. My favorite day of the work week!

Today, I'm sharing a layout of a close up moose and bear sighting while we were in the Grand Tetons, Wyoming. My hubby took these. Yes, he was way too close! They all got in trouble with the Rangers. Thankfully everybody was fine and got some great pictures out of the deal. 😂😬

When traveling the roads through the Grand Teton National Park, you will often see a bunch of vehicles pulled off to the side of the road. That's your cue to pull off and go see the attraction. Usually, some type of wildlife has been spotted and you can literally follow the crowd and it will be worth the walk.

The paper is from Hiedi Swapp Wolf Pack. The journaling circle is from another set. I used Close to My Heart "Life in Pictures" for the cameras.

As I look back on this layout, I'd probably change a few things. It seems kind of "bear" (um....bare)😒 to me. More embellishments and something to tie in the two sides would have been helpful. We don't hit them all out of the park, and that's okay. I do like the paper I chose, but definitely could have tied them together a little more meaningfully. Thanks for listening to my self critique.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Adventure - Two page Travel Scrapbook Layout

Here's another layout from our Grant Tetons trip in Wyoming (2020). Every day was such a beautiful adventure for us!

There is so much wildlife to see in their natural habitat! And the landscape itself is something to behold.
Simple clouds and sun were an easy add to the page. Actually, the sun all the way behind the clouds would have been more accurate for this particular day. 😕

The stamps are the Close to My Heart "Aurora" set. Instructions are given to cut the paper in the right size to frame the stamp. Love this!  I used the CTMH Sapphire ink pad, and also cut a slightly larger mat. The Sapphire ink pad must have been nice and juicy and it came our really bright. I used the square punch (Creative Memories) to cut around the antler stamp. I journaled with my Cricut in Design Space and placed a bracket shape around it, attached and cut/wrote all at the same time, and placed a larger mat to frame the journaling.
The paper is Heidi Swapp "Wolf Pack". The photo corner punch (StampinUp!)  is what actually makes the page for me. It's funny how one little element can be a game-changer.

I really love the plaid with the birch bark paper. The navy mountains were also cut in Design Space to sit on top of the plaid and create a place for my title.
I really like this layout, and LOVE the green and blue together, especially the plaid. I certainly could have layered additional embellishments around the pics, stamps and journaling, but I didn't want to cover up all the pretty paper. 😂

Have a great weekend! I hope to share some more layouts with you next week.

Take the Scenic Route - Two Page Travel Scrapbook Layout

Here's another layout from our rafting trip in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This was the last full day of our trip, so we wanted to do something a little different. As I mentioned before, we didn't see much wildlife, but we had a good time and the views were beautiful from the Snake River. And did I mention, our guide did ALL the paddling.

While the raft looks like it might be comfortable. Me and my knees were struggling with it, but it was still enjoyable.
The Cricut journaling is a bit time consuming with their current program, but it makes the story so much more legible.
The paper is Close to My Heart "Aurora", "Timber" and Scrapbook Customs "Camping Things".
I'm not sure which brand the washi is (black wood grain), but I used that to border my patterned paper, and cut the other epehemera from Design Space. I used some miscellaneous scraps and zip strip for the banners in the corner.
I believe the mountain scene was a sticker from the Scrapbook customs paper set.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your week.

View from the Top - Two Page Travel Scrapbook Layout

How do you feel about heights? We rode the Aerial Tram in the Teton Village on my birthday. It wasn't that high, and we loved it. The smoky haze from the wild fires dampened the view just a bit, though.

We caught the tram right in the village, just steps away from our hotel.
The paper is Basic Grey "Periphery" and Paper House with Zaomo washi and twine. I added some ephemera from Kaiser Craft "Let's Go" collection. I stamped the camera, tag and other doodads  with CTMH "Life in Pictures". I created the tag in Design Space and journaled on it. I also designed the title myself.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a crafty week!

The Mountains are Calling - Two Page Travel Scrapbook Layout

Hopping on again to share another travel scrapbook layout from the most beautiful, Jenny Lake, in Wyoming. The scenery is beautiful on it's own without us in the foreground, BUT it's a must to prove we were there, right? 😂

I used patterned paper and wolf card from Heidi Swapp "Wolf Pack" collection, Simple Stories "Happy Trails" woodgrain design, and Close to My Heart "Aurora across the page horizontally. The decorative tape (brand?) is such a simple way to elevate the design of the page. The title and mountain range embellishments are from Design Space along with the journaling. Each photo was matted in blue to help them pop off the patterned paper.

I hope you are inspired by this page in some way! Maybe you'll scrap some of your trips, or maybe you'll plan a future trip to the Tetons! I highly recommend it.

Jenny Lake - Two Page Travel Scrapbook Layout

Sorry that I've been MIA for several weeks. I'm fine! Just got out of the habit of posting for awhile.

Here's a travel layout from September 2020 during our visit to the Cascade Canyon in the heart of the Teton Range in Wyoming. Jenny Lake was the most beautiful inland lake we have seen to date! With beautiful pines framing it all around and the majestic Teton mountains as it's back drop, it's absolutely breathtaking! You need to go see the entire area, if you haven't yet. I can't imagine how much more beautiful it would have been had we not had some of the residual smoke blowing in from the California wildfires.
This is one of those destinations where the pictures will always fall short of the incredible beauty you experience in person.
I used a dark olive green shade of textured Recollections cardstock as a backdrop to a fun blue and green plaid from Close to My Heart's Timber Collection. Scotch brand green wood grain decorative tape makes a nice transition around the edges of the plaid. The Aurora travel stamp set, also from CTMH, came through for the perfect embellishment. This is one of my favorite stamp sets so far for travel layouts.

I designed the title myself from 3 different fonts in Design Space. I usually try to connect the words and letters where I can so that I don't have to line up a bunch of individual letters. I just prefer the way it looks to design my own and it's fun for me. The journaling is also written out with my Cricut and designed to fit in the space available.

Hope you enjoy this layout! My favorite part is the plaid paper and the color combo. I like how it brings out the natural beauty of the photos.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Let's Go Fly a Kite - two page summer scrapbook layout

We just came back from a work trip in Florida.  It was hard to escape the excessive heat and humidity, but it made the pool feel that much more refreshing!

Are you enjoying your summer? It's slipping away quickly.

I decided to take a little break from posting my travel pictures to a summer layout featuring my adorable grands! They're the best. I love that this layout helps me hang on to the memories of this day from 2020.

I love the accents on this page, from the kite to the clouds!
The paper is Simple Stories "We are Family" and Close to My Heart "These are my People", along with some Recollections cardstock.
My favorite part about the page (aside from my beautiful grandchildren) is the simple layout, and the fun embellishments.
We had a great day flying a kite, playing with fairy gardens and Hot Wheels, and soaking up some rays.

Hope you are inspired to be creative today, or to spend some extra time with your grands. Have a fun week!

Moose Sighting - Two Page Travel Scrapbook Layout - WY

I am so behind in sharing my layouts! In September 2020, we had a wonderful opportunity to visit Wyoming!! Our hotel was right near the Grand Teton National Park. There was so much wildlife to see, not to mention the incredible Teton Mountain Range.

Here's a layout from our first day exploring. We saw a moose right away!

The patterned paper is Close to My Heart "Aurora" with some washi tape from Recollections.
I used "One Way Borders" stamp set from CTMH for the arrow, cut some trees and the lovely moose from Design Space, along with the title. The arrow embellishment is just under the picture where y ou can see the moose the best. Can you see her? I even used the Cricut for my journaling so that somebody can actually read it later.
I love how the solid blue along the bottom makes the sky and the mountain range pop. You will notice in many of these pictures that the sky was very hazy from all the fire fires out west. It was a shame, but it didn't stop us from seeing everything we could.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a great week.

Masculine Birthday Cards

Brrrr.....Baby it's cold outside. I wish I could sit home all day, and make stuff. No, really. I'm ready to retire, but my age bracket doesn't quite hit than benchmark yet...Nor does my IRA. Looks like I need to keep my day job. Do you look forward to retirement? The older I get, the more I can't wait!!

Today, I thought I'd share a few masculine birthday cards with you. I honestly, struggle with cards in general as compared to scrapbooking. Typically I browse my Pinterest boards and find something for a jumping off point.

I love this city scene. I think it is super cool. This one was created for one of my nephews. I liked the simple black and white color scheme. The stamp of the city is cut out and popped up with foam squares, but it would also work as super quick one layer card.

I can't get enough of tree stamps. Fall is my favorite, so trees, leaves, pumpkins and the like run rampant in my collection. This was a quick card, but it looks classy. You could add additional layers of colored solid cardstock under the patterned paper, or not...you choose.

This is probably my favorite on this post. Striped washi tape, grungy background stamps, a bit of ribbon, a popped up bright red star, and a graphic birthday stamped pennant. The colors give it a masculine look, but it would be fun experimenting for a similar grungy girly look.

This one is my second favorite and so stinkin' simple. If you are like me, you have a ton of patterned scraps. Grab some with coordinating masculine colors/patterns and cut a mustache either by hand, or on your Cricut. Add some grungy dots and you're done. The men in my life all love their facial hair, so it was perfect.

West Maui Mountains - Two Page Maui Layout

Hello on this happy first day of  December!! Can you believe it? This year has seemed so long and hard, but some how it has flown for me. Here we are 24 days from Christmas. Ready or not, it is coming.

I'm still enjoying sharing all of my layouts from our amazing Hawaii trip last year. It's time to share some more sunshine with you.

What a beautiful day this was. Of course, every day was beautiful! These pictures were from another day of explorations through the West Maui Mountains. The vegetation is so beautiful and lush, and the rainforest type atmosphere was fun to experience.
I used a large floral tropical paper from Kaiser Craft's "Paradise Found" collection for the background and added a layer of a peach which had a much smaller pattern to highlight the photos also from Kaiser Kraft "On this Day". I almost always matt all of my photos. It makes them pop off the patterned papers that I love to use. I used some orange travel washi and journaling cards and chipboard (WeRMemory Keepers "Jet Set")  tucked under the tape along with small title letters with woodgrain design.
I cut some pennants for the right and stamped a directional arrow (Close to My Heart) to add a little detail as well as some twine around the travel cards. I need to use stamps on my pages more often! I have so many that would be appropriate for scrapbooking!
There are a total of 6 digital size pictures here. I love using this size, especially with vertical pictures. They leave enough room at the top and bottom to add some design to the page.

Thanks for looking! I have lots more Hawaii layouts to share in addition to some layouts from Christmases past! Tis the season! Have a great rest of the week!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - " Hosanna Walk"

It was a beautiful morning to walk down the cobblestone path from the Mount of Olives to the Garden of Gethsemane.
It was a long steep, and narrow road down the hill. The immediate view into the valley was a huge cemetery. It went on forever. There were some people there laying stones on the vaults. I wish I could have seen it back in the time where Jesus rode the donkey into Jerusalem.
This day was a scorcher. Glad we started early in the day, but it was still exhausting for me and my knees with the steep decline. Definitely a moving experience for all of us as we walked where Jesus walked.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a great week!
