Hazy Sunset - Two Page Travel Sunset Scrapbook Layout

Here it is! The last layout from our trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the Grand Tetons. It's taken awhile to get through all of these, but we made it!

As previously mentioned, there was a thick, smoky haze over the mountains while we were there, unfortunately. Not a clear, crisp view, but WOW! I love a good sunset and this was beautiful in it's own way.

The paper is Close to My Heart's "Aurora". How perfect! All of the embellishments were cut with my Cricut in Design Space.

Thanks for sharing this amazing trip with me! I hope you take the time to visit the Grand Teton area. I've been blessed with some amazing trips, thanks to being a meeting planner. This has been one of my favorites!

I'll be back soon. Not sure what I'll be sharing next! It will be a surprise for both of us.

Silent Night - Two Page winter scrapbook layout

Hello again! Yes, this is my second post this week. :) I'm on a roll.

These pictures were taken the evening of Christmas Day 2019. The back of our house looks so much better now. We now have beautiful Craftsman style posts with stone bases and some additional trim up in the peak. Much better than the crooked lumber holding it up in this photo.  The underside of the covered porch is still unfinished today (much to my dismay), but it will be finished some day!

I love the Kraft paper with Christmas wording, even though this was obviously NOT a white Christmas! I found the woodsy stick images including the title in Cricut Design Studio. It was all one image, but after cutting, I moved them around on my page to accent the photos.
I added a few strips of scrap Christmas paper and wrote out the journaling with my Cricut. I love that feature, since my handwriting is terrible....per everybody in the family, except my husband who has gotten pretty good at deciphering it after 37 years of marriage.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope you find some inspiration for a crafty weekend!

Silent Night - Two Page Winter Sunset Scrapbook Layout

I saw a beautiful sunset last night. There is something about a winter sunset. Maybe it's because we can see more of the skyline when the trees are bare, but for some reason the colors seem brighter and more spectacular. It reminded me of this gorgeous sunset on Christmas Day a few years back. I don't always take pictures of the sunset...well maybe I do. 😀
Yes, this is a Christmas layout, technically...but I chose not to use the crazy Christmas patterns with this. I liked this natural graphic background to let the pictures stand out more. I did add a few mixed plaid patterned strips in the middle. I loved this silhouette scene of the barren trees and the deer. I found it in Design Space and then broke it up and spread it out on the layout to frame the pictures.
I'm so thankful for our beautiful home!! It has been such a place of solace for us lately. No we don't really see deer in our yard, but that's okay. Maybe some day. Speaking of "some day", the back of our porch is not done yet in this photo. Now we have sloping white square pillars on a field-stone base in the outside corners and a pretty Craftsman detail in the peak of the roof, and the ugly temporary peak support is gone!  However, finishing this off is a process and it's still not done-done yet. The underside of the roof still looks just like this! I'm not a very patient woman, but I'm working on that. I'm trying to focus on the progress!

The branchy looking title was perfect for the layout. I like the way it turned out....my non-Christmassy Christmas Day layout. Hope you are staying warm and enjoying some solace of your own. Don't forget to look for the beautiful signs of God's creation each morning and evening. He is in control and the rhythms of each day are a comforting reminder of that.

Have a blessed weekend!

Cherish Every Sunset - Two Page Lake Michigan Scrapbook Layout

Happy Summer! I think everybody is ready to get out and GO!! Somewhere...Anywhere! These pictures remind me of the absolute beauty of our country. We'll be heading up to Lake Michigan next month, and I can't wait!! Until then, I will enjoy reliving these family memories from a few years back.

Holland, MI is one of our favorite Lake Michigan towns. We were amazed by the sunsets we saw during this trip. My husband  captured this sunburst picture as we were making our way into the tunnel at Tunnel Park just as the sun was going down.

The paper is from a vintage summer stack that I've had on hand for awhile. I love this paper stack. The colors are perfect for the lake, beach, sunsets, etc. The orange patterned washi helped the orange in the sunset to really pop off the page and the light aqua striped washi adds another layer of texture. I used a StampinUp! journaling stamp to  frame my journaling, and matted it twice. The final touch on this page is the silhouette of the beach grass on each lower corner. The idea came to me from the photos themselves, and I love how it turned out. It also gave me the perfect place to add the date with a white Jelly Roll pen. I designed and created the title in Cricut's Design Space.
In my opinion, a sunset just doesn't get any better than this. I guess a few clouds scattered about might have added to the skyline, but Lake Michigan will always be one of the best places to say goodbye to a beautiful day.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Hope you are having an enjoyably productive week!

Aloha from the Lanai - Two Page Maui Scrapbook Layout

Here is the very last layout from our 2019 Hawaii trip. I've loved reliving the memories from this trip as I've been sharing it with all of you. Given the fact we just got a few inches of snow, these pictures are a welcome treat. I sure hope this is our very last snow of the season here in northeast Indiana!! I'd like to be done with it until December 24!

What better way to celebrate my last share from the album than by sharing our final sunset from this fabulous trip.

If you have been following my blog for very long, you already know how much I love sunsets! I try to watch it every night, if I can! Our new home has a west facing view at the back of the house, and I love watching it sink below the horizon as often as possible. But how grand watching it set from our lanai in Maui!!
This paper already had the beautiful tropical flowers in the bottom right corner. I turned one of the pages to put flowers in both corners of the double layout. I also used the bottom identifying strip at the bottom of the paper as the horizontal strip on the page to serve as an anchor for the photos. It's a super simple (and free) way to add something extra to your page. I cut the title with my Cricut in Design Space. This was a pretty simple page, but I really wanted to let the photos steal the show.
Well that is it for my Hawaii album!! I hope that you've enjoyed it and found some inspiration. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Which one was your favorite? Are you planning a trip to Hawaii anytime soon? It's such a great escape!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I pray you are having a great week!!

Scrapbook Layout - "Sunset Views"

Here's a layout from our trip to Northern Michigan last year. The sun was setting while we travelling up the coast, so we stopped at the nearest harbor we could find to catch the last rays fading behind the horizon.

It was a gorgeous night! I'd never heard of Bowers Harbor until that day, but it was beautiful!
I love the silhouettes of my son looking out towards the lake. This was his last vacation with us as a single guy. He's getting married next month! We hope to take a trip there with our kids, their spouses and our grandchildren in the next few years.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Me & You"

In 2015, we took a business trip to California, and were fortunate to extend a little while on our own. There is so much to see and do, resulting in so many pictures to scrap. 😉

These photos were taken at Sunset Cliffs near San Diego. Wow! This was actually our second time to visit there, and also my second layout for this location!! But how could I not scrap it again? See the first layout here.
The paper is We R Memory Keepers "Shine" and green woodgrain Scotch washi.
The sun is cut with Cricut's Wild Card 2, and title with Graphically Speaking. The itty bitty banner is My Mind's Eye "Indie". I love when different brands of paper and embellies that I find in my stash just happen to work well together.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope this layout brings a little bit of sun to your day.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Mallory Square"

Are you longing for some warmth and a beautiful sunset? Maybe this will help. Just looking at the colors in this layout brightens my dreary day.
Key West was the destination for our 30th anniversary trip December, 2015. We had such a great time and are so blessed to be able to take time away together. Mallory Square is the spot where Key West tourists and locals go to watch the sunset. They have a nice shopping area, ice cream, street performers, and people watching. Our hotel was quite close. It's also where the cruise ships dock. We got some awesome fresh guacamole from one of the \vendors in the square. They made it right in front of us...Oh man...It was great, and I'm not a big fan of guac!
I have no idea the brand of this lovely paper. I typically make notes on the back of the supplies I've used on the layouts, but alas, I forgot on to do so here.
I used the StampinUp bitty banner punch for the banner along the bottom, and freehanded the two longer banners, and topped them with a brad.
Hope you can feel the warmth of the sun and the colors on this layout. It's pretty cold and dreary here in Indiana. It's actually been raining. Normally we have snow and ice in January, but I'm not going to complain. Thanks for stopping by! Now I want guacamole!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Love These Moments"

I think this is the last layout to share from our trip to Holland, MI in 2014. These layouts make me long for another Lake Michigan getaway!

Sunsets on Lake Michigan are amazing!! Every bit as beautiful as the ocean, but unsalted.
The paper is My Mind's Eye "Lost and Found", including the chipboard, brads, and stickers.  I used Cricut's "Edge to Edge" cartridge for the lovely sun and rays. The possibilities with this cartridge are endless to add a full page die cut to your layout. Check it out, if you haven't! The title font is Cricut's "Jubilee".
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Come back soon!

"Enjoy Life" summer layout

Ah....the weekend, finally! Hello Friday!

Today, I want to share a fresh summer layout of our vacation last year. I added it to my son's album just last week before his party. I've scrapped some of these pictures for our family album, but Jacob wanted last summer represented in his album too. I love that he cares!

I love the bright green cardstock and the way it makes the pictures pop. I also matted each photo on white for even more definition. The patterned paper is from the Teen Angst collection. It has a little shiny stripe in it. I've had this orange felt "laugh" sticker in my stash for probably close to a year! So fun to finally use it! The circular stamps were purchased on the clearance rack at Michaels. This was the first I'd used them, but so perfect for the layout. Also cool that my scrappy friend had a circle punch the perfect size to punch them out! I love it when that happens!
I used the Notebook punch to put a little detail on the edge of the strip going across the middle. I cut the sun with my Cricut and layered it on another patterned paper cirlce behind the title (Graphically Speaking). Again, I used some smaller wallet pictures in order to pack them in (11 pics) and still have the space to get a little creative.

Here's a closeup of the journallng and layering. I mounted the "Be You" stamped cirlce onto a larger patterned paper cirlce and fringed the edge all the way around. It turned out kind of cool!

Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful weekend!
