Happy Birthday Bro - One Page Layout

I thought I'd take a quick break from posting my Grand Tetons layouts. Here's one from several years back that I've never postged. Note: My youngest has since cut his hair and beard...lol...way better now!

We met the boys for a quick birthday lunch at Taco Bell!!!! Too funny, but we knew we could all step away from our work day long enough to be together on their birthday! We celebrated it again on another day so the spouses and grandkids could join.

Yes, they are birthday brothers! Two years apart, but both share the same date of birth. I'd like to take the credit for that, because I think it is so fun that they share their special days. But you know, they decide when they'll make their entrance in the world, with absolutely nothing Mom can do about it.

I used several different scraps on the page and layered them up as a backdrop to the picture. I took my cue from the wall mural in the photo and used those colors. I added three different types of washi (love the mustaches!) and a vintage looking happy birthday image from Design Space, along with strip journaling. The white Jelly Roll pen is a great way to add quick faux stitching. I used baker's twine for the bow in the upper right corner and my old revolving date stamp on a ticket to mark the year.
Here's a closeup so you can more easily see most of the details.

Thanks for stopping by!! Enjoy your week and be crafty!

Angry Pepper - One Page Layout

We ate at the Angry Pepper while we were in Florida. What a fun place! We really enjoyed the food and the nostalgic decor.

This is my wonderful husband, enjoying his food. He's the best!! Always up for an adventure with me.
The paper is again part from a vintage stack from Crate Paper "the Pier". The banner at the top uses tags and tickets from Recollections and the red button from Jillibean. I tied a little red, white, and blue baker's twine in one of the Kraft tags where I journaled.

Just a simple layout, featuring some great memories with my husband while we were off on our Florida adventure. Thanks for stopping by. One more Florida beach layout to come!

Quarantine - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Here's another Covid layout for your scrapbook inspiration. I know many have a hard time looking back at the pandemic. I totally get that. I had Covid, and it was probably the worst I've ever felt. I also my Aunt and Uncle within 8 days of each other. It was an awful time for so many. I try to scrap just about everything. I'm also trying to look back at it in a positive way.

I like the title on this page. I'm not sure where I got the idea. Maybe it is the colors from this page that make it more likeable. The photos are just some random things that we did to keep our sanity while we were all staying home. DIY sanitizing wipes, when we could find the right ingredients; cleaning, because, you know, what else are we going to do; catching up with the neighbors while still keeping our distance; and realizing how lazy our dog is all day long....fun stuff!😂
I love my office view of our retired greyhound (Riley) peeping me while I work. He's gone now...Very sad. He was a good boy and a loyal companion for many years.
It was such a weird time filled with uncertainty, but we tried to make the best of it.
The blue and green is a great combo! I jazzed it up with another coordinating scrap of distressed patterned paper, some washi tape, blue and green pennants wrapped with baker's twine, and strip journaling with coordinating dark green and blue cardstock journaled with a white jelly roll pen.

Hope this layout inspires you in some way! Have a great week!

Comfort Food - One Page Layout

Oh boy...there goes Fall! Temps have dipped down more than 30 degrees from last week to this week. We even had snow over the weekend. Wow...I'm just not ready for the "W" season yet.

Time to post some yummy, warm pics of comfort food. This warms me up on the inside...just looking at the pictures. Yes, we are already breaking out the soup pot. Tonight is leftover chilli.

I love my red cast iron soup pot. This is actually my second one. I wore out the first one. My husband looks forward to seeing the red pot on the stove. It signifies something good is about to happen!! He is so easy to please with food. I haven't made very many meals that he didn't like. Soup is one of his faves through the cold months!! It also means, leftovers the next day! WooHoo!
Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Fattening? Yes! I try to eat low carb, though, and this fits in pretty well if I use Keto bread. Anyway...I love the mix of patterned paper that makes my soup pot pop off the page. The eat sign is from Design Sapce, wrapped with black and white baker's twine.

Thanks for stopping by. This post has primed my tummy for Chilli! Bye!

One Page Scrapbook Layout - Work Selfies

Just a few random selfies of me at work. Not sure why I took these, but I really don't take enough pictures of myself. These are from a few years ago. I didn't note the date on the layouts, but that's the way it goes sometimes. They must be at least 2 years old because I have new glasses now.

I like mixing black and white with color photos. Fun paper, cute flowers from scraps, Baker's twine and some washi. Done!

Hope this inspires you to scrap yourself once in awhile. Have a wonderful rest of the week. I'm preparing for my birthday this weekend. I will enjoy being with my family.

Sleepover - Two Page Scrapbook Layout - Grandchildre

Being a Grandma may be one of the few things that gives me purpose lately. Helping them navigate their young lives and hopefully passing on a legacy of strong family, unconditional love, and faith in the Lord. My two crazies...keep me sane...even when I'm feeling discouraged.

Don't get me wrong, these two give me a run for my money sometimes! I love the creativity and the smiles captured here during one of their sleepovers. Hot Wheels, fairy garden fun, coloring, reading on the porch, making chocolate chip cookies, eating them, and bedtime stories!
I love this water color distressed paper. The photos are matted in a light blue to help them stand out on the paper. I found some closely coordinating flowered and numbered paper for the brackets and banner strips. Lastly, I added a few directional stamps along the edges. Using my Cricut for journaling is a Godsend because my own writing is awful. I wish I could write this neatly with my own hands.
The title is from Design Space. The layering helps give it dimension, along with the chunky baker's twine bow tied vertically around the entire left page. Simple, with lots of fun pictures that bring back memories of a few years back. That's what it is all about...keeping the memories close in our hearts.

Hope you are starting to enjoy the beautiful early summer weather! It's not my favorite season, but I do love temps in the mid-70's!

Have a blessed week!

It's Christmas - Two Page Christmas layout

It's time to share another Christmas layout from 2019 with you. Sooooo many Christmas layouts to share, and I just forget to jump on here and get it done. So here's a cutie for you.

Who doesn't love a jolly little elf? This little guy is almost as cute as my grandkids.
These two grands of mine have changed and grown up so much over the last two years! It's crazy to look at these pictures. They are our little joy bringers.
I love the bottom pic in comparison to the unwrapping chaos!! So much fun in the middle of the chaos, though. I used two different Christmas themed patterned papers for this layout, and another darker green strip across the bottom. I found some Christmas washi to tie in the green strip. The multi-strands of bakers twine made a nice bow to highlight the journaling.
Thanks for stopping by my page today! Have a blessed new year with much happy crafting!

Living Nativity - Two Page Christmas Layout

This is my week for sharing layouts of our Christmas activities. This one was very meaningful and tells the wonderful story of Christ coming to earth!

One of the churches in our area hosts a wonderful live nativity scene. This was our first time going, but hope we can do it again!  The kids that there were lots of live animals including camels! The line was long down the street to get in. Seriously, it was over a mile long, but so worth it.
For this layout, I cut some strips from scraps of Christmas paper that all shared the same color combination and wrapped them with baker's twine. I used a small leftover bit of the red paper to add a little banner on the left to balance it out. The silhouette of  Joseph walking the donkey carrying Mary was straight from Design Space and cut on kraft paper.
As usual, I printed some of the pics as wallets so that I could use more pics on the page.
Look at those crazy kiddos!! We adore them and our time together is such a blessing.

Apple of My Eye - Two Page Fall Scrapbook Layout

Fall is my favorite!!! Apples, gourds, pumpkins and everything else. Today I'd like to share a layout from a few years back featuring pictures with our grands from one of our favorite orchards.

Do you put titles on your page? I almost always do. It's another way for me to be creative with my page and make it all my own.
I used some numbered washi to line the edges, and multiple scraps of matching fall themed patterned paper. I do love to mix and match. I only had one sheet of the apple paper, or I may have used that all the way across. Leaving a space between the strips was a new thing for me, but I think I like the effect and also leaving a border all the way around and between, if that makes sense.
I matted the photos in black so they wouldn't get lost on the page. This really helped them to stand out, and also tied in the black printed washi tape. Same idea for the black and white baker's twine around one of the photos.
An apple-picking page just wouldn't be complete without layering up some apples!! Using my StampinUp! scalloped punch, I punched around one of the apples on the patterned paper, then matted it again with the 2" circle punch, then popped it all up on the page using dimensionals.
The orchard and pumpkin picking is one of our fall traditions with the grands. Love them so much! I can't believe this layout is already two years old!! They are growing up so fast! 😢

Hope you enjoy this layout. I have a few more layouts to share for fall as well as a few Halloween layouts. I better get cracking and start posting more often. Have a great week!!

Craft - One Page Scrapbook Layout

This little granddaughter of mine is something special!! She will be eight years old next month! Not sure how that happened so fast! She's very excited to spend time with me in my craft room. She's learning to use my Cricut and my iPad to find the images she is interested in. I love spending time with her, especially one on one!!

I don't love this picture of myself, but I LOVE that my hubby captured us crafting together and making memories. I hope she will always love to craft with me and spend time with her Grandma. 😍 She and her brother bring such joy, fun, and sometimes a little chaos to our little family! Being a Grandma is the best!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!! Stay crafty and healthy!

P.S. I haven't forgotten about the last few layouts form my son's wedding. They're coming soon.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Celebrate Love"

The only thing as good as being blessed with raising two sons, is gaining daughters when they find that special, lovely girl and bring her into the family!! My "baby" boy got married a little over a year ago and we definitely think she's a keeper. It's always interesting when the family dynamics change, but she's definitely been a sweet addition.

These pictures are from a beautiful bridal shower that her family threw for her. We had a great time celebrating this young lady and the love that her and my son share.

It was so fun to spend time with my oldest daughter-in-love and my sweet granddaughter too! Look at her dancing in front of the mirror. I love her spunk and the way she is all girl, but tough when she needs to be! All of these young ladies bring such joy to my life!!! It used to be I was the only female in our family, raising two boys.... but now I'm so blessed to have these two young ladies and granddaughter to share life with.
I pray that we will continue to grow closer and that I will shine a light in their life in any way that I can. I don't want to be a just a "mother-in-law", but a second Mom who makes a difference and leaves a special mark on their life. Somebody that they cherish and enjoy spending time with too. So here's to all the special ladies in your life (both young and old)!
I hope you like this layout. I love all the pennants and J & K banner in the upper left. I was able to get 10 pictures on here and still add some fun embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

Three California Dreamin' Scrapbook Layouts

Here's a few layouts from our 2015 trip to California. This was a work trip, but we managed to have some fun at the same time.
This was our beautiful hotel. Very comfortable! Couldn't ask for anything else, except to take all the sunshine back home to Indiana.
Don't you love this tropical floral paper? The colors are amazing.

Here's a layout showing off the outside grounds for our hotel.
They had a walkway over the Pacific Coast Highway which took you right down tot he beach.
I think it's time for another CA trip. You can't really beat the weather and the views.

Here's another layout of the hotel grounds. Loved our stay there. I spent much of the time a little stressed out due to being the meeting planner, but what a place to be stressed!
The pool, fountains, and flowers were gorgeous!
I wish I'd had a little more time to sit on the beach, but since I was there to work, I can't complain.

Thanks again for stopping by my blog. See you soon!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Adorable"

Look at these two lovebirds! This is my youngest and his then girlfriend. Now, they are engaged and planning to tie the knot in October. I'm very proud of these two and happy they've found each other.

This layout is from Easter 2015.  It was a beautiful day for photos!
I believe the title and bunnies are from Kate's ABC's. The little white cotton tail ball fringe was perfect for Easter.
I'm a bit obsessed with the blue and green color combo! So fresh and springy!!
A little bit of Washi helped to Anchor it at the bottom. One of many more layouts to come with these two cuties! It's been fun to watch their relationship grow.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

Two Page Layout - "Heartbreaker"

Scarlet seems to enjoy the men in her life. Her Daddy, Uncle, and PaPa are pretty sweet on her too. These pictures were taken about a year ago when she had a lot less hair. Yes, I'm that far behind in posting layouts to my blog! This one is super simple. I look back at it now and I think it needs something else...lol, but I'm posting it regardless.
The Martha Stewarts crafts and Echo Park "This & That" team up for a cute layout complete with ball fringe and baker's twine. My StampinUp scalloped circle punch makes an easy border, when you cut each circle in half.
The title is cut with Cricut's Sweetheart cartridge and the wings with Indie Art. They layer up nicely and the line of rhinestones adds a little bling. I used a scalloped border punch on the top and bottom of the journaling tag and put the scalloped border across the tag before adding the writing.
Easy layout, and a most adorable grandbaby. I am blessed beyond words! Her baby brother will be making his appearance some time next month! We are super excited to meet him. =)

Sorry for the delay in posting. I had a few chaotic weeks at work and then a business trip in San Diego...Now it's back to the real world including chilly temps and leftover grungy snow that can't melt fast enough for me. Spring is coming, though! I heard the birds singing a song this morning.

Two Page Layout - "Noel"

Our sweet granddaughter is so precious! This layout is from her first Christmas last year. She brings us so much joy and fun! She's just one more reminder of how blessed we are! These photos were taken at our Christmas Eve service last year. I just love her beautiful, silky, red ruffled dress!
I was inspired by a sketch I found on Basic Grey's site by sketchsavvy.blogspot.com. I cut a little bit off the outside edges of the neutral cardstock, so the red cardstock would frame it all the way around. The four outside corners on the neutral layer are clipped with a corner rounder. I cut a very basic triangle shaped Christmas tree with my Cricut and punched holes in it to see through to the layer underneath, in order to make it look like the tree in the background of the photo.
I cut layers of horizontal banners to go across the bottom and added some miscellaneous Christmas washi tape across the bottom edge of the journaling tag. The paper is from The Paper Company, Deja Views, and Authentique. The title font is Cricut's Plantin Schoolbook. I used burgundy ink to tint some plain kraft snowflakes that I had in my stash and added some rhinestones. The wood ornament was saved from a Christmas card I received in the mail. I strung Baker's twine through the hole of the ornament and attached it to the page with staples.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
