Angry Pepper - One Page Layout

We ate at the Angry Pepper while we were in Florida. What a fun place! We really enjoyed the food and the nostalgic decor.

This is my wonderful husband, enjoying his food. He's the best!! Always up for an adventure with me.
The paper is again part from a vintage stack from Crate Paper "the Pier". The banner at the top uses tags and tickets from Recollections and the red button from Jillibean. I tied a little red, white, and blue baker's twine in one of the Kraft tags where I journaled.

Just a simple layout, featuring some great memories with my husband while we were off on our Florida adventure. Thanks for stopping by. One more Florida beach layout to come!

Fresh Christmas Tree - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Hope you all had a pleasant Christmas and New Years celebration! I hope you were able to have your family/friends together and just savor your time together. It's been awhile since posting. Time to get back into that!!

My parents are gone now, and it's just me and my brother! We try to make an effort to get together a few times each year, even though we really aren't close. He lives in Michigan and I'm in NE Indiana. We were at his home last weekend for a couple of hours. but these pictures are from when he visited us for the weekend a few years ago after Christmas.

Neither of us are very photogenic here, but nonetheless it is a memory of us together!!
Pretty simple layout. I matted all of the photos on white to help them pop off the darker patterned paper. The title is larger since I didn't have a bunch of photos to use. I used Cricut Design Studio for the images.
Washi tape placed vertically between the papers, a few tags and journaling, plus a little bit of twine and DONE!

Hope you enjoy the after Christmas inspiration! Have a blessed week.

Peace on Earth - Two Page Christmas Layout

Thought I would share a few more Christmas layouts before everybody is completely out of the mood. Here is a layout from a few years back...pre-Covid...when all seemed well with the world.

A super simple layout using a pack of Christmas paper highlighting corals and dark forest greens.  I used a bold color for matting the photos and I think it works okay.

I love my family so much. This year looks so much different. My family is broken and it is heart breaking. I'm still thankful for these happier memories, though. I hope they will help me to look back with fondness and realize how quickly thinks can change in life.
I pray that you are having a blessed Christmas season and looking forward to a New Year of health and happiness.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "I Left My Heart in San Francisco"

Our last views of San Francisco were the mighty Golden Gate bridge. This time we viewed it from Bakers Beach and Fort Point.
What a fun and beautiful destination!!! I hope we will be back some day.
The paper is "Trend Setter" from Fancy Pants along with the button and banners. The title font is Lyrical Letters.
I will probably throw in some miscellaneous family posts before I continue with our California Dreamin' vacation album. Hope you will stop back to see the rest of our trip down the Pacific Coast Highway, the Sequoias, Hollywood, and San Diego.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Oh Boy"

This little cutie has the sweetest personality. These pictures were taken when he was turning one!!
I usually put these special pictures in an album just for them. When they graduate and have a place for the album, they can have it and hopefully they will cherish it forever. :) I also do another layout of the same pictures for our scrapbook. Quite often I'll use more juvenile paper on the layout for their books.
I used lots of primary colored washi tape and some basic white tags for the minimal journaling. I love the adorable little vintage red truck.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Enjoy your day!!

Two Page Layout - "Ludington"

It's been a rough week, hasn't it? It's so hard to even watch the news with evil running rampant in our world. I don't think we are meant to understand the evil, what triggers it, or what kind of person it takes to carry it out. This is one of those weeks where I pray hard and keep trusting my father in Heaven who is still in control. My heart goes out to the families of the Boston Marathon victims. I felt like I couldn't just start a new post without sharing a little bit of my heart with you today.

I have no idea how to transition into scrapbooking from here, but I think some sunshine and peaceful pictures could do us all a little good. These pictures were taken in a beautiful little town on the shore of Lake Michigan. If I could live anywhere and money was not an issue, I would probably choose to live somewhere on Lake Michigan. =)

The flowers are made from scraps of denim that I saved. I'm 5'11" and I am pretty sure that this is the first time I've ever had to shorten the hem of any piece of clothing. The jeans were "talls" and apparently there are some who are taller than me. I threw the scraps in with my scrappy treasures. I started with a Gluber circle, laying the denim around the outside edge and working my way to the middle. It looked a little messy in the center because the denim was so stiff, so I used a button to cover it.
The picture grid is bordered on the top and bottom with scraps of paper cut with several different border punches. To keep the clean look of the page, I journalled along the bottom edge. I didn't feel like much journalling was really necessary because I've used other pictures from this destination in my layouts.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Anybody scrapping this weekend??? I AM!!! Can't wait. I'm hoping to get lots of pages done. Have a great weekend no matter how you choose to spend it. =)

Birthday card and gift bag

It's a dreary rainy day here!! I try to keep reminding myself that we really need this rain. I thought it was time for a bright and cheerful post.
I got the inspiration for this card from a mass produced invitation where the design was simply printed on the cardstock. I thought it would be fun to reproduce this with diamond shaped cut cardstock, placed in the same format. Well...it was fun, but WOW, it took a lot more time than I thought it would. I used only leftover scraps, except for the card base. I found the perfect diamond cut in Cricut's Art Philosophy cartridge by Close to My Heart. I ran each little piece thruogh my "X" and lined them all up. The pieces along the edges have to be cut to fit. I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out, but if I do it again, the diamonds will be bigger, so there will be fewer to deal with. =)

Here's a cute little bag that went together in a snap! I used the purse from Cricut's Tags & Bags cartridge. Sooooo Easy!! I tucked in a gift card and gave it to my coworker for her birthday with a few chocolates. They go together so quickly, they'd be great for party favors too!
The flower decoration on the front is just as simple. I got the idea from my StampinUp! consultant, Jodi Geers. Find a newspaper ad with the colors you're looking for. Cut six with two different sized scalloped punches. Stack them all up with the smaller circles on top of the larger circles (6 of each). Poke a hole and put a brad through the center, and crumple up all of the layers individually. What a beautiful way to recycle all of those sales ads!! Perfect for presents or cards.
