New Glasses - One Page Scrapbook Layout

Do you ever scrapbook your selfies? When I take a pic that I actually like, sometimes I scrap it. Why not? It gives me an excuse to pull out some pretty paper scraps and get creative.
I had fun making flowers with my Cricut to match those on the banner across the middle of the page.
The paper is KaiserCraft's "Paisley" and WeRMemory Keepers, along with other scraps, some miscellaneous brads, and SU markers. I experimented with a filter on one of the pics just for fun. I like how all of the colors work together and pop off the page.

Hope this inspires you to scrap yourself once in awhile. You have a story to tell, even if it's just about getting new glasses!

Waiting for Sunset - Two Page Lake Michigan scrapbook layout

Time for another Lake Michigan sunset? It's always time for a good sunset...no matter where you are when the sun says it's final goodbye for the evening. These are great memories from a family trip we took a few years back.

The kids were clowning around in the sand as we waited for the magic to happen on the horizon. We were taking selfies together and enjoying each others' company.
Both patterned papers and journaling tags are from a stack of beachy paper from We R Memory Keepers. I added some miscellaneous flowers and a Heidi Swapp scalloped paper banner. Using a few wallets helps to work in more pictures.
Hope you are all enjoying your summer!! I haven't scrapped in awhile. I could use a little crafty time to ease my mind. How about you? Do you get much crafting done in the summer weeks?

Easter Eggs - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Happy Easter Sunday to you all. Today I'm sharing another Easter layout from 2019.

This title has quite a few layers, but it was really fun to do! I typically pick out a bunch of scrap paper from my stash for this type of thing. I love the way it turned out.
I used a nice mix of springy patterned paper to go vertically across my pages from Echo Park "Sweet Girl" line including the journaling card.
I love coloring eggs with the grandkids. I love to see their creativity and their excitement. Even the big kids still seem to enjoy it. I also love eating the eggs!!
The small flowers on the right were cut with my Cricut and topped with StampinUp buttons.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. We are celebrating Christ's resurrection from the dead! Such HOPE and LOVE that he offers to us if we only accept his incredible gift of salvation!!

Come back next week when I will be sharing the final layouts from my Hawaii album.

"Bride" - Two Page Wedding Layout

As promised, here is the layout of the beautiful bride...my daughter-in-love. We are very proud to have her in the family. She fits right in!!
I tried to keep the focus on the beautiful pictures, but thought the white scraping twine and StampinUp gemstone charm added a nice touch. It's been great to have Design Space for quick and easy titles.
Both of my DIL's invited me to come along shopping for their dresses. I treasured that experience with them, especially as a "Boy Mom".  I'm proud of my boys for choosing their better halves so perfectly! They are an answer to prayers that we prayed over our boys since they were little.
The white brick background paper came from a wedding pack, but the bottom section of paper was actually a beautiful scrap. I used a border punch for the scalloped strip placed on top of the wood washi tape. The title and flowers are from Cricut Design Space.
Thanks for stopping by and listening to me gush on my family!

Bride Tribe - Two Page Wedding Layout

Here in NE Indiana we already have some snow on the ground. It snowed 2-3" on Monday, and some of it still lingers on the leaf piles and pumpkins. I'm not a fan of snow this early in the season! I'm still not ready to say goodbye to fall's beautiful array of leaves and all things lovely about the season of  harvest. But, here we are...so I'm learning that I don't get to call the shots in the weather department.

Today I'm sharing another layout from my newly completed album of my youngest son and daughter-in-love's wedding two years ago. It seems like they've been together for so long already! I guess time flies when you're having fun, right?
These young ladies are so lovely! What a beautiful wedding celebration! I really wanted the photos to stand out, so I matted them in a light brown and didn't add a lot of other embellishments. I do love the beautiful floral scrap that tied in all of her colors so nicely. I used a strip on both sides of the page at the bottom to ground the layout, and added some banners on the right. And that title from Design Space...I love how it turned out.
This sweet little one is my precious granddaughter and she loves her new Aunt Katie! She's a lot of sweetness and a little bit of sass.😍 I really enjoy the time I have to bond with her. She loves to get into my crafty world and would love to have her own Cricut! I adore spending this time with her. She definitely has a creative flare! I can't wait to see how she uses that gift down the road.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope your weekend is relaxing and enjoyable!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Friends Always"

Did you ever sing the song, "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other's gold."? We are blessed to have some "gold" friends! I met Nancy when we were 4 or 5 years old. Eh hem....I think that makes us friends for five decades!!! That's right, a semi-century friendship! We were backyard neighbors. We spent a lot of time going back and forth to each others house. Even after we moved to other homes, we kept in touch at school. Later, we were roomies in an apartment, and stood up in each others weddings. They later moved to Traverse City, MI and my husband and I moved to Fort Wayne, IN. We still visit each other as often as possible for our kids graduations, weddings, parents' funerals, and  just to hang out and spend time together.
Our husbands became friends as teens before Nancy and I knew them. We all met up at my church playing volleyball with the youth. Our youth played VB every weekend. It didn't take that long for Mark and I to become interested in each other and shortly after Gary and Nancy started dating. Oh my goodness...there is so much more to the story than I have room to share here. 😍
I love the colors in this layout. I'm not sure what possessed me to go so feminine with it, but it was close to Easter when they came to visit us last year, so the paper and embellishments fit the décor. I do love how it turned out. There is something about using black embellishments to set off a page.
We had so much fun getting caught up with each other, playing games and just hanging out. We felt so blessed to share our new home (and guestroom) with them. Prior to this visit, in our old home, they had to sleep on the pull out couch in the living room. No fun, I'm sure! Maybe they'll come more often now!!

Have a great week!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Sugar & Spice"

Here's another very similar layout to the one I posted yesterday. One of these is for our family album and the other is for my grand daughter's album.
Different papers and embellishments, but very similar design and layout. That makes is so much simpler to do the second layout. 😊
Which do you like better? I guess I'll find out once I post it on Pinterest and see how many times they're pinned. I like them both for different reasons. I do really like the flower embellishments that I made for this one.
I think I've posted all my layouts from this fun little photo shoot of my grand children. I might have a few more birthday layouts from last year. Maybe I'll post those next. You'll have to come back tomorrow and find out.

One Page Scrapbook Layout - XOXO

Oh my goodness! This little girl totally melts my heart! The sweetness and the attitude meld together for the perfect combination of strength and beauty.
The freckles, and the mood of this picture is just too sweet. This sweet thing is the first girl in our family for a long time, so I love being able to pull out the florals, light pink ball fringe and everything girley for her layouts.
It's hard to see in this pic but I used Wink of Stella on the flower to give it some shimmer.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today for one of my rare one-pagers!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Family by Chance..."

A few years back we set some time aside for a sibling getaway weekend with my husband's siblings. We had a great time together. We stayed up all night playing games and talking. Here's  a scrapbook layout of some of our time together.

If you saw my post from Monday, you'll recognize some of these as the photo that our boys decided to re-enact with their spouses. So funny!
These are some of my favorite humans! We love each other in spite of our faults and irritations.
Looking back at these pics from a few years ago, makes me want to frame a few of these for our guest bedroom. They turned out well!
Love the woodgrain paper with the honeycomb pattern. It reflects the mix of our personalities quite well! The little alphabet stickers are perfect for making a long title take up less space on the page. I try to emphasize the most important words and fill in with the letter stickers.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!! Have an inspired and crafty day!

<I apologize! All pics have been removed for publishing.>

Two Page Scrapbook Layouts - Mackinaw Island

Mackinaw Island is one of our favorite places to visit. Whether we're lucky enough to spend a long weekend there, or even just a day trip, it's so much fun! Here's a few layouts from a few summers back. Our son joined us for the trip. We had a great time!

First....."Are We There Yet" - A layout of our bike ride around Mackinaw Island.
Even I made it all the way around!! I had to walk my cruiser bike up one of the hills, but aside from that, the 8.2 mile trip was a breeze! My son and husband bike often and go much farther, so I was happy to keep up with them, for the most part.
We rented our bikes and mine was a cruiser! I came home convinced that I needed to replace my mountain bike with a cruiser! For my birthday that year, I picked out my very own Electra Townie 7D. Oh my word...so much more comfortable and I love riding again.
Gorgeous views all the way around the island. Lots of places to stop, rest, skip stones, and take pictures.

We stayed one night on the island at a beautiful bed and breakfast just one street back from the main drag. What a gorgeous place! The flowers and the hospitality were amazing.

"Flower Power" at the Metevier Inn, Mackinaw Island
I must admit this is probably the first time I've ever used lavender card stock! :) I like the way it turned out, though. I can almost smell the flowers.
Such a fun place to stay. They thought of everything to make our stay memorable.
If you've never been, you need to go and experience Mackinaw Island overnight. Maybe I should start collecting commissions from the MI Convention Bureau. 😃 You really don't need to go to California or Florida to experience beautiful coastal views and beaches. #puremichigan

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Darling"

Our granddaughter is the sweetest! She's such a blessing to our family. She's funny, spirited, and sometimes even feisty, but she is and always will be my sunshine.

These pics were taken of an outing with just her and PawPaw and I. We had a fun breakfast and time at the park.

Wow! How was this two years ago, already??

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "My Sunshine"

I'm enjoying posting some layouts again. I have so many that I'd like to share, so I'm trying to stick with the blogging.

This layout is just me and my granddaughter being silly and having fun. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I sure do love this sweet girl!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Bixby Creek Bridge"

The Big Sur (Pacific Coast Hwy) is home to some of the most beautiful sites I've ever laid eyes on. The rocks, cliffs, beaches, and absolutely gorgeous blue water stretch up and down the coast for as far as your eye can see.
The Bixby Creek bridge is a beautiful site to see from all directions. I took so many pictures, but none of them really do it justice. We ventured out to the edge of the nearby cliffs to try to get the best angles. Of course, my husband ventured much farther out than I did.
One of the most beautiful sites we saw while in California, but there are so many more...
The paper and chevron washi from Pink Paislee Indigo Bleu made a nice backdrop to show off the beautiful pictures. The navy herringbone washi is from Studio G. The StampinUp! five petal and triple flower punches made quick work of the flower accents topped with miscellaneous brads. The title font is Cricut's Jubilee.

Thanks for stopping by and taking this California photo journey with me.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Cute as a Button"

April is a special month with our family. Our two grandchildren were both born in April! I find it so ironic, because both of my boys were born in August. We celebrate these two precious little ones!!
These pics are from 2015. This is how I scrap...always about a year behind, and then it takes me even more time to photograph my layouts and get them posted here.
Scarlet is such a treasure! I love her tender heart, and her inquisitive, adventurous spirit. She's her Daddy's little girl, right down to her big, beautiful brown eyes.
The paper is from Embellish by Dena "Happi Boy". The flowers were some I picked up at Michaels and inked the edges a little bit. The brads are from Studio Calico and My Minds Eye. I used the bitty scalloped circle punch from StampinUp! for the center of the flowers and the larger scalloped punch for the number. The ribbon was some from my stash and I love how it matched perfectly and made the layout a bit more feminine since this is for my granddaughters album. The title is from Cricut's "Kate's ABC's".

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

Two Page Layout - "Just Stay Little"

If you are a new Mommy, you've probably heard more times than you'd like to remember about how fast time flies. All I can say is that it is so true, and it flies even faster with grandkids. Time is so precious and we never know how long we have.
These two are our favorite little humans! They're not perfect, but they're pretty close. We love them to pieces. This layout features pictures of them from almost two years ago. The little man turns two years old tomorrow and he has beautiful blonde hair and striking blue eyes....a real heart breaker!
The little princess is almost four and she has beautiful brown eyes, a smile that lights up a room, and a big imagination. She loves to play with her Grandma. She melts my heart!!
If you are a Grandma, you will totally understand what I'm trying to express. Being a Grandma is the best gig ever!

All of the paper and embellishments shown are from Glitz Design, even the owl. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

Two page Layout - "Mr & Mrs"

It's the time of year when two shall become one!! It's so fun to witness a couple taking that leap of faith and promising to love each other forever. It's such a huge step and certainly not one to be taken lightly. Every time I attend a wedding, I'm freshly reminded of the promises my husband and I made to each other almost 29 years ago. Man...how time flies!

This layout is from a beautiful outdoor wedding that my family attended last year. The yellow/gray color combination was so bright and cheery!
What a sweet couple! It was a very memorable and beautiful wedding.
My flower punches came in handy for layering gray and white flowers and, of course, securing them in the middle with a jeweled brad added some bling.
The banner is made with Tim Holtz tape doubled over white scrappers floss and hand cutting the point.
Yesterday, we attended a beautiful indoor wedding and I took so many great pictures that I'm looking forward to scrapping. My 2 year old granddaughter was the flower girl...So adorable!!

Hope you have the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful sunny wedding with loved ones this summer. LOVE is definitely in the air and one of my favorite topics to scrap about. =)
