Big News - One Page Newspaper Clipping Layout

Does anybody still get the newspaper? Probably not many get it every day, if at all, anymore. I know we don't. It was a hard sell to my husband to cancel the subscription, but he finally realized he didn't really have the time to read it.

Back in 2017, our then 4 year old granddaughter made the newspaper!!! It was pretty exciting, of course! This was actually the second time she made the newspaper. She's that awesome!

I wanted to preserve the article for future generations to see, but it was hard to come up with an idea of how to best use it in a my scrapbook album, but I thought this turned out cute. Maybe this will give you an idea, just in case you still have any old newspaper articles waiting to be scrapped.

This layout was created quite awhile ago. My creative skills have improved since then, but bare with me as I post an oldy but a goody!

Isn't she just adorable?!? The joy on her face makes me smile. And...who wouldn't love to have some of this 76 degree weather right now??

The heart patterned paper made a good backdrop for the article. I matted the article twice, and lined it up with some striped ribbon, and a strip of washi tape below. The puffy clouds were inked around the edges and added above, because that's where clouds belong. 😂 The ribbon flower was purchased by the yard and cut apart for a birthday banner that I made for the same sweet baby girl. I added a few quote strips, pennants, and strips of paper, and boom...this BIG news article was preserved for future generations.

Hope this inspires you to do something crafty with your old news clippings! Good luck!

Two Page Layout - "Grandparents Day"

This little girly is our joy and sunshine.😻 Love that she's able to go to a wonderful Christian school where she has every opportunity to excel in anything that she wants to do, while learning about Christ. She has grown and learned so much in the last couple years...It's quite amazing to watch.
It's always worth taking time off work for her daytime school activities....A beautiful photo-op with my favorite girl, seeing her face light up as she spots us in the crowd, and celebrating her accomplishments in every way possible!

Her class played the bells and they did so great! When she was in pre-school, she wasn't very excited about performing, but she seems to be into it now and we are so blessed to be so close and able to attend everything that she has going on at school. We're hoping she'll be a star volleyball player like her Mama! This Grandma played too back in the day! But, she will choose her own activities and we'll be excited to support her in any way that we can...Unless it's baseball, then I'll have to pray for more patience.
You probably recognize the papers from Graphic 45. They were actually given to me by a fellow scrapper who is always generous with her srapping supplies. Thank you, Karen!

Hoping you are feeling thankful and blessed! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "You Color My World"

And now it's time to share one of my fall layouts of my sweet granddaughter. She's definitely sugar and spice and everything nice, maybe with a little extra spice. :)
Again, I'm loving this fall themed paper. I matted the photos, layered some embellishments and wrapped it with some pretty scalloped crocheted ribbon.
Ah...I can't believe it's taken me 3 years to get these posted. Looks like it's time for another photo shoot with these sweet, not-so-little babies.
I'm still obsessed with the shot of my granddaughter laying on her belly in the wagon and the one where she's throwing up the leaves! Kudos to our photographer for catching these moments so well.

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy your day!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Have a Sweet Day"

Here's another birthday layout from last April when my sweet Granddaughter turned 5 years old! She is such a joy in our lives! Love the girly girl in her!
Love mixing the patterned paper...an obsession of mine, actually! Check out the super super simple washi frame around the photos.
I like to pop up some of the elements on the page. Here I popped up the "5 years".
These papers and embellies are from several different lines of paper. I love it when I pull stuff out of my storage and they all just seem to work together.
I love doing the girly pages when they're all about her. She's the first girl I've been able to spoil and fuss over. Can't get enough of her!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Sugar & Spice"

Here's another very similar layout to the one I posted yesterday. One of these is for our family album and the other is for my grand daughter's album.
Different papers and embellishments, but very similar design and layout. That makes is so much simpler to do the second layout. 😊
Which do you like better? I guess I'll find out once I post it on Pinterest and see how many times they're pinned. I like them both for different reasons. I do really like the flower embellishments that I made for this one.
I think I've posted all my layouts from this fun little photo shoot of my grand children. I might have a few more birthday layouts from last year. Maybe I'll post those next. You'll have to come back tomorrow and find out.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "All Girl"

Here's another layout from our grandchildren's photo shoot a few years back. This one features, Miss Scarlet.
She was having so much fun and I think she forgot she was posing.
This little girl melts my heart. I try not to let her wrap me around her little finger, but it's so hard!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Tomorrow I'll post another one with the same pics, different paper. One is for her book and one for ours.

Two page Scrpbook Layout - "Woodland Princess" take 2

Here is the second layout I made for my grand daughter's scrapbook. If you saw my layouts from yesterday, these are the same pics, but different paper. This one has a little more youthful look about it, but very similar.
I like how the purple pops on this page, even with the busy patterned paper.
And who doesn't love mini ball fringe? The scallop border punch adds another feminine element to the page. Having raised two boys (no girls of my own), I can't even express the joy in all things pink, scalloped, lacey, and flowery.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a wonderful scrappy week!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Woodland Princess"

Here's another layout of my beautiful grand daughter for her fourth birthday photo shoot. I typically will scrap a double layout for her book, as well as for mine. That is why you see so many layouts of the same pictures! Sometimes I use the same basic layout design, and other times I completely mix it up. I almost always use different paper, though.
Of course, she had a few outfits to use, which means I need to capture all of the outfits on layouts! :) I love this beautiful little dress and how she flows (and glows) in it.
I loved the butterflies, dragonflies and mushrooms with the layout and the paper. It's a simple layout, but I love the feel of it...and the gorgeous baby girl is what makes it amazing!
She melts my heart and I literally can't stop looking at her! Love her zest for life!
I used a little Wink of Stella on the mushrooms because all mushrooms should be shimmery, right?

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I have another Woodland Princess layout that I will be sharing tomorrow!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - Once Upon a Time

I will start off by saying this is one of my least favorite layouts from the recent past. It's got a lot going on. But I'm posting it anyway, because it was such a fun event with great memories. Just be nice...LOL!
For some reason the color was changed in the editing process. I promise both sides match!
I wrapped a string of rhinestones around the circular sticker. I think it's the stickers I don't like. I don't use them much anymore since I cut most of my embellishments with my Cricut. Oh well....it's done!!
So now you've seen my least favorite page. Thanks for showing me grace. I do like the title!
Please come back tomorrow and I promise to show you something WAAAY cuter. :)

One Page Scrapbook Layout - XOXO

Oh my goodness! This little girl totally melts my heart! The sweetness and the attitude meld together for the perfect combination of strength and beauty.
The freckles, and the mood of this picture is just too sweet. This sweet thing is the first girl in our family for a long time, so I love being able to pull out the florals, light pink ball fringe and everything girley for her layouts.
It's hard to see in this pic but I used Wink of Stella on the flower to give it some shimmer.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today for one of my rare one-pagers!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Darling"

Our granddaughter is the sweetest! She's such a blessing to our family. She's funny, spirited, and sometimes even feisty, but she is and always will be my sunshine.

These pics were taken of an outing with just her and PawPaw and I. We had a fun breakfast and time at the park.

Wow! How was this two years ago, already??

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "My Sunshine"

I'm enjoying posting some layouts again. I have so many that I'd like to share, so I'm trying to stick with the blogging.

This layout is just me and my granddaughter being silly and having fun. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I sure do love this sweet girl!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "EGGstra Sweet"

Way past time for an update! Spring is definitely here. The grass is greening up and the flowering trees are starting to bud. Even though the winter was fairly easy, I'm so ready for more sunshine, flowers, and the newness of Spring.

This brings me to an Easter layout that I'd like to share today. Wow, how our grandbabies have grown in the past two years.
Sawyer was a little young for hunting eggs, but big Sis had no problems filling in for him and sharing later.
That face! Sometimes I wonder what is going through her head. 💓
I think my favorite part of this layout (aside from her sweet face) is the zipper ribbon and the felt flowers. So perfectly girly.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Love You"

This one is for my granddaughter's album from Fall 2014. Right now, I'm only scrapping special mile marker events and ages in my grandkids' albums such a birthdays, special photo shoots, etc. My granddaughter is only 4 and the book is already filling up. I may have to have a couple of books for them. I hate to limit myself too much...lol!
The paper is from Paper Company and Bo Bunny Safari, with embellies from My Mind's Eye "Cut and Paste". The title is from Cricut's Paisley cartridge.
This little girl is truly my sunshine! After raising two burly boys, she's all things, pink and purple, ruffles and bows...and both sugar and spice! She bring us such joy!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!! See you soon.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "My Sunshine"

Here's a girlie layout of my favorite little Sunshine. She brings so much joy to our family.
Those eyes...that smile! Could she be anymore adorable?
The paper is from StampinUp and Simple Stories. The pretty pink ball fringe ribbon is American Crafts. The chipboard pieces are from Studio G. The banner, branches, and journaling tags were cut with Cricut's Art Philosophy. The double 5 point flower and the little bitty flowers were created with StampinUp punches.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Have a lovely and productive week!

Double Scrapbook Layout - "Let's Play"

Oh my....they grow so fast! This is my darling granddaughter, two years ago. We get together with my son as a family every Sunday. Every once in awhile, even though nothing spectacular is happening, I'll pull out my camera. I should try to capture these every day moments more often.
This lovely lime chevron paper is from Bo Bunny "Lemonade Stand". The felt flowers are from StampinUp!, and the lace is from Paper Studio.
I punched a few scalloped circles (SU) and clipped inward as the bottom layer of the flower embellishments. The washi is from Studio G.
I still can't get over that this is two years ago! Maybe I'll get caught up some day, but what fun would that be?

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a great rest of the week.

One Page Scrapbook Layout - "You're a Hoot"

This little girl is our granddaughter!!!!  She brings so much joy and fun to our lives!! If you're not a Grandma yet, you have so much to look forward to.
These pictures were taken at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants with my cell phone so they are a little blurry.  She was dressed up, and just being silly. When you're this adorable, you can be as silly as you'd like and get away with it. :)

The chipboard owl elements are from K & C Company and were created for a Smash book. I adore owls, so I decided to use them with my traditional method of scrapbooking. It was designed for the owls to flip open to the journaling tag, but I cut them apart. The title is from Cricut's "Hoot N Holler" cartridge. I used an SU scalloped border punch for the strip along the top edge, and the ribbons and  flower were hanging out in my stash.

At first I thought the colors were crazy together, but I'm super excited with the way it turned out. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!! Enjoy your day.
