Thanks for looking! Have a crafty week! I need a crafty week too!
I remember this Thanksgiving like it was yesterday. We had so much fun together just hanging out at the table, chatting and being silly.
Thanksgiving is approaching fast and I'm excited for it! It's one of my favorite holidays, if not "the" favorite. I love the time with family and sharing traditional recipes with them. I want my grandkids to experience all the food and fun!
I'm sharing a Thanksgiving layout from four years ago. I'm not sure how I skipped these when posting. I have a lot of catching up to do!
I'm not sure which paper collection I used, but it may be from Simple Stories. Love all of these faces around the table. So much has changed, and it's hard sometimes to wrap my brain around it all.Hope you aren't tired of seeing my Wyoming scrapbook layouts. I only have a few more, and then I'll move on. Promise!
Here's a fun layout of the route north of Yellowstone Park. Again, the scenery is amazing. So many beautiful photo ops. We stopped every 5 minutes to take pictures.
Two posts in a row this week! Trying to make up for lost time.
Here's a fun two pager from our trip to the Sunflower farm a few years back. I love the paper and the colors for this set. My favorite thing about the layout is the photos of my precious family. So many sweet memories come flooding back.
We have not been back to the sunflower patch. Some how we've missed the timing of the blooms. We love the tradition of picking apples together. Lately, it's just been hard to get our crew together for various reason. Of course, I love to document the family fun!
This apple picking party was a from a few years back. Honestly, we haven't all been able to do it again since then. Life can be complicated and hard sometimes.
I love the vintage, distressed paper! Maybe because I'm vintage, and also distressed. 😜 As much as I love working with a pack of matching designer paper, I feel accomplished when I can go through my stash and find coordinating scraps that will work together in a layout. That's what I did here. I'm pretty happy with the results.I cut the title with my Cricut and added checkered red washi tape vertically to give it some pop. The red and white baker's twine adds texture. I created this way before I started doing most of my journaling with my Cricut, so you'll all have to suffer through my handwriting.
Hope you are enjoying this season. What's not to love, except today it is a little rainy and dreary! Time to break out all the pumpkin and apple recipes, a pot of chili, and sit by the fire.
I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream!! The perfect summer time treat. This place is a favorite here in town. We try to visit at least once every summer, but again, we've not been over there yet this season. Look at these faces! My favorites!
Hope this inspires you to scrap yourself once in awhile. You have a story to tell, even if it's just about getting new glasses!
Thanks for stopping by!! Hope you get some crafty time this week.
During May 2020, when Covid was still pushing hard, a local organization created a drive by Safari. We grabbed the grands and took a little cruise through the parking lot at all of the farm animals, along with a few more exotic creatures.
There wasn't a lot to look at, but it was still fun to get out with the kids and just do something! We were not allowed to get out of the car. It seems a little silly now since everything was outside with lots of ventilation, but we obeyed the rules.
I used an older pack of patterned paper for the background and found some coordinating strips of paper in my scrap folder. The flower embellies are newer to my stash but coordinated perfectly. I could have gone with a more kiddy type zoo paper, but I just wasn't feeling that for this layout. Here's a sunnier layout from our quick trip to Florida. Last one!! We were able to take a quick trip to the beach to just soak up some of the warmth before flying back to freezing Fort Wayne.
The paper is American Craft's "Explore", and Echo Park's "Good Day Sunshine" and "Happy Camper". I love the whimsical cameras and the fun colors. The title stickers are Close to My Heart's "Blue Skies". I used a mish-mash of different products, but love the way they all work great together.
That's the last of the photos from our Florida trip! Thanks for stopping by. Hope these inspire you in some crafty way. Have a blessed weekend!
In February, 2021, we made a quick trip to Florida for a double Memorial Service for my treasured Aunt and Uncle who both died from Covid within 9 days of each other. I'm so glad we took the time, and used some of our travel points to be there with our beloved family!! I hadn't seen some of my cousins in years. Hopefully the next time we get together it will be for a cousin reunion or something more fun! However, I know my Aunt and Uncle would have been pleased to see us gathering together in their honor. They were beautiful people, who loved their family well and lived a beautiful life together. They are dearly missed by all who were blessed enough to know them!
Here's one page layout of a few pictures we took during the Memorial Service.
We are very blessed to have our two grandchildren living within 15 minutes of us. Many grandparents have to travel so much farther to enjoy their littles. We sometimes pick them up from school, take them for donuts, to the park, or the Dollar Store. Sometimes they also get to stay up late, eat popcorn, watch movies and spend the night at our house. This is from a overnighter a few years ago. Time is a thief!
Today, is this young ladies 11th birthday! We are so blessed to have her as our one and only granddaughter...so far. She is the first girl in our family. I raised two boys, so my DIL's and granddaughter are very special to me. And, this little girl brought all the sugar, spice and everything nice into my life. I love who she is becoming!!
This layout is from her 8th birthday!!
Why haven't I posted this one yet? We're getting ready to celebrate our granddaughter's 11th!! Oh well, apparently I'm a few years behind. Shocker!
She is spunky, a little sassy, and a lot of sweetness! We couldn't love her more.
I added some little details like photo corners, file tabs, washi tape, and mixed some patterned paper, along with layering up some of journal cards and embellishments. The aqua twine seems to tie it all together.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Hope you enjoy your weekend. This little man has another birthday coming up next weekend! He will be nine years old!!! One more year until double digits. Not sure how this is possible. We love watching him grow and mature, and seeing where his strengths and interests will develop. This child is so smart! His brain works in a way that mine never has, and it's pretty impressive.
This is a layout from almost three years ago when he was six! I'm usually about a year or less behind on scrapbooking my photos. I do scrap chronologically for the most part. However, I put off taking photos, posting my layouts on my blog, etc. I like the creative aspects of scrapbooking, but the follow up work is definitely not my favorite. I have a pile of layouts I'm working on taking photos of now (for my blog), but I just ran out of battery on my phone. So, time for a post!!
This is a fun pack of My Minds Eye "Boys Will Be Boys" paper that I received quite awhile ago as a prize for one of my layouts being published in Scrapbook Cards & Today magazine. There was tons of coordinating boy paper, ephemera and even a cute set of robot stamps. I love all the colors, and it makes it so easy when everything coordinates beautifully.Well 2020, was one of the strangest (and more memorable) years in my history. Our company was shut down (like most of the country) during Easter. I work for Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. We insure churches and related ministries across the company. Many of us are Christians. The company decided to hold a "drive-in" Good Friday service in the parking lot! We thought this was one of the coolest experiences ever (but also strange).
Of course, most of us rolled down our windows and we were able to hear the message given by one of our fellow employees, along with some great Easter music. It was a pretty day (but also cold and windy). What a great morning, though!!The paper and all the embellishments came from a pack of paper from Echo Park. You may think it is strange that I scrapped these Covid memories. I try to capture all the memories (the good, bad, and strange).
Enjoy your week!
