Birthday Boy - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

This little man has another birthday coming up next weekend! He will be nine years old!!! One more year until double digits. Not sure how this is possible. We love watching him grow and mature, and seeing where his strengths and interests will develop. This child is so smart! His brain works in a way that mine never has, and it's pretty impressive.

This is a layout from almost three years ago when he was six! I'm usually about a year or less behind on scrapbooking my photos. I do scrap chronologically for the most part. However, I put off taking photos, posting my layouts on my blog, etc. I like the creative aspects of scrapbooking, but the follow up work is definitely not my favorite. I have a pile of layouts I'm working on taking photos of  now (for my blog), but I just ran out of battery on my phone. So, time for a post!!

This is a fun pack of  My Minds Eye "Boys Will Be Boys" paper that I received quite awhile ago as a prize for one of my layouts being published in Scrapbook Cards & Today magazine. There was tons of coordinating boy paper, ephemera and even a cute set of robot stamps. I love all the colors, and it makes it so easy when everything coordinates beautifully.
My absolute favorite part of scrapbooking is figuring out the design of my layout. Where do I want to put my photos? Where will the title and journaling fit best? Also, creating my own title from Design Space. The title above was two different phrases that I merged together and sized to perfectly fit my space on the red banner. Remember when we used to have to attach each letter separately and hopefully get it to all line up with proper spacing and level on the page? Welding letters saves me that trouble. In this example, I wanted the letters B O Y to be separate from each other, but by merging them with the phrase above, I'm able to easily get perfect spacing and to work around the corner of the photo.
I used some of the leftover paper scraps to make banners, and borders to go along the edge of the red pennant. And, the cute little red and yellow robot adds the fun factor to the page. Using a few wallet size photos or cropping to 4x4 helps fit more photos on the page.

Hope you enjoyed this layout of my incredibly smart, handsome grandson!! We are so very proud of him! Looking forward to celebrating with him next weekend.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Smile"

This little guy is getting so big. I love watching him grow up, but not too fast. He's full of life and promise! I can't wait to see the plans that God has for him.

We're so proud of my son and his family. I've posted other layouts that featured my granddaughter, but this one is all about Sawyer. He is one and a half in these pictures, but now he is four! Guess it's time for family pictures again?
Our photographer did such a great job. She was so patient and fun!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Believe it or not, I have a few more layouts from this photoshoot. :) Love my family!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Falling for You"

We don't take professional family photos every year, but when we do, it's typically in the fall. A few years ago we did a family shoot in a nearby park. Our photographer has the patience of Job!
This layout features our grandson who was two at the time. Considering his age, I think our photographer got some great shots of our little man.
The lined patterned paper was a nice backdrop for all of the color pictures. I rarely use plain cardstock. I'm so obsessed with patterned paper. The little banner is one that I purchased. It added a bit of a whimsical look to the layout.
There are nine pictures on this layout and still some rom for embellishments and journaling. I like the way it turned out. I'm in love with antlers, especially on a masculine page for our handsome grandson.

You'll have to come back and check out all the other layouts I created from this photo shoot. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Happy Birthday"

Wow...I sure have been holding out on all of the birthday layouts. Here's a layout of my grandson's 3rd birthday.
Lots of pictures, but also a little bit of white space. I love all of the colorful stars.
This little dude makes my heart smile. He is a sweet boy and doesn't like to disappoint, but he can be ornery! And the energy level....Wish he could share that with his Grandma!
My son's fiance (now wife) asked my daughter-in-love to be one of her Bridesmaids during the party. Of course, this was a highlight of the day! I love them both, and we feel blessed that our son's have found the love of their lives. We've watched with joy as our boys have grown up and turned into amazing husbands!
Super simple layout, but the stars and the title set it off for me. Hope you find some inspiration and have a scrappy week!

Two Page Layout - "Dream Big Little One"

A few days ago I posted one of my least favorite layouts. Well this is one that I love!! The paper, the colors, and especially my cutie pie grandson!! 😻
If you stop by my blog often, you may recognize the pictures. I am working on a separate scrapbook for each of my grandkids, in addition to scrapping some of the same photos in our family book. So...twice the cuteness!
Sometimes I lay the pictures out the same and just use different paper. Other times I completely recreate the layout the second time around.
My favorite part of this is the paper airplane. Super simple, but it totally makes the page for me and made a great place to journal.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope your day is full of crafty fun!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Never Grow Up"

Today, I'm sharing some adorable pics of my sweet little grandson! He's four now, but he was two in these pictures. Oh my word...isn't he the cutest thing ever?? You know he is!
He's all boy and not really into posing for pictures, if you know what I mean. He' much rather be exploring, running, and throwing sticks, rocks, etc.
I love how this mix of papers create a young masculine look, but also keeps the focus on the cute pics! Do you like to mix color photos with black & whites? It took me awhile to try it, but now I mix them up often with professional type portraits.
I have more birthday layouts to share, so stop back soon!

Scrapbook Layout - "Hot Shot"

This is my absolute favorite little man. Meet, Sawyer, my darling Grandson. I adore this picture of him!
This picture was taken two years ago when he was only two! Can't believe how time flies and now he's four and in pre-school.

And....now that I'm posting this I see something wrong with this layout. Anybody else noticing it?  😒

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Cake Smash"

This is proof that time really does fly. This boy is now 3 years old and here he is smashing his first cake when he was only one! He's now officially completed his terrible twos and running headfirst into his troublesome threes! I love this boy with all of my heart, though. He can be very sensitive, loving, and he's extremely polite!! :) It sure doesn't hurt these he's adorable either!

Anyway, back to the 1 year layout...

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Family is Forever"

Do these photos look familiar? This layout is for my grandson's album, and it includes the photos of him and one family photo for him to remember how big his sissy was at this age, and how good looking his parents are. 😉
Sometimes I use the same design, but many times it ends up completely different than the layouts in our family album. I babied this one up a little with the a white scallop border around the photos, but it's still very boyish with the woodgrain, stripes and primary color accents.
Our little man is so stinking precious. He's his mother's mini and he has a precious personality. He's two and a half now and he's definitely giving his parents a good run! He's very active and ALL BOY!
The background paper is from Recollections and the woodgrain from My Mind's Eye and the journaling card is Basic Gray "Capture". The button embellishments are from Studio G, as well as some SU punched scalloped circles.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Little Guy"

This little guy is my favorite (and only) grandson! He's non-stop fun!
 The paper is
This one is for my book, but I made a similar one for his very own scrapbook.
The paper is from MME "Miss Caroline". The banners and strips of paper are from other scraps I had on hand. The banner across the right page is made with the StampinUp! itty bitty banner punch. This is the most simple banner possible. I didn't even punch holes and thread the string...I simply stuck the banner to the top of the string after laying it in place. Super simple and sometimes simple is just better.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!! Come back soon.

Two page scrapbook layout - "Cake Smash"

Being a Grandma is such a treasure! It's really the best thing ever. So much love for these cute little humans!!

This little baldy is now two-and-a-half years old, has a beautiful head of blonde hair, and loves to throw everything. Time has flown!
His Mama put together the cutest little vintage car decorations. I made a cute banner, and apparently I forgot to get a photo. We had a great time celebrating this little guy! I think it's safe to say, he was enjoying the cupcake and the attention.
This baby set is called Embellished by Dina "Happi Boy" including the patterned paper, banners, and embellishments.. The title font is from Lyrical Letters jumbo and the twine is Karen Foster.

Thanks for stopping by my blog with me!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Happy Birthday Little Guy"

Who doesn't love to scrap birthday pictures of their grandbabies? Our little guy turned 2 years old this year in April, but of course, I haven't scrapped those yet. Here's a layout from his first birthday outing last year.
The whole family met up at the mall to ride the carousel and enjoy some time celebrating. What a hoot!  Big sister, obviously, joined in the fun too.
I don't use a lot of baby paper. I forced myself to use it here, but honestly, it's not my favorite. It was very appropriate, though, and I know he'll enjoy looking back at this layout some day. He'll grow up way too fast, so I need to use the baby paper while it's still appropriate.
We're blessed to have them close by so we can enjoy each other and just do life together. Being grandparents makes all those years of hard parenting so worthwhile!!

Thanks for stopping by today! I have several more birthday layouts to share, and more of our California trip too. Stop back soon!!

One Page Scrapbook Layout - "Daddy's Boy"

This is one of those unplanned photo shoots that turned out so perfectly! These were taken outside my son's home on the morning before our grandson's first birthday party.
I typically do full two page layouts, so this is rare for me, but I absolutely adore how it turned out. I picked up the title idea from a layout I saw on Pinterest. I'm in love with all of the color, and those two special guys in the pictures.
I simply adore my entire family, and we're blessed beyond words to be so close.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Oh Boy"

This little cutie has the sweetest personality. These pictures were taken when he was turning one!!
I usually put these special pictures in an album just for them. When they graduate and have a place for the album, they can have it and hopefully they will cherish it forever. :) I also do another layout of the same pictures for our scrapbook. Quite often I'll use more juvenile paper on the layout for their books.
I used lots of primary colored washi tape and some basic white tags for the minimal journaling. I love the adorable little vintage red truck.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Enjoy your day!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Oh Boy - 6 Months"

This little guy melts our heart. Here's the layout of his 6 month pictures for his scrapbook. I typically make two layouts of the mile marker portraits... one for his book and one for ours.
Isn't he such a doll? We're so blessed to have this little man in our life!
I love this set of little boy paper!! So stinking cute, just like him.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "All Boy"

What a beautiful sunny day! I hope you are enjoying your Easter weekend. I just finished cleaning my house and decided to take a few minutes to post a few layouts before heading out to fight the crowd at the grocery store.
This little guy is so darling! He's our little sweetheart and is growing way too fast!

These pictures were taken by his talented Mommy when he was 6 months old. Now he's just about ready to celebrate 2 years of life!
The paper is We R Memory Keepers "Autumn Splendor" and Little Yellow Bicycle. The ribbon is from Paper Studio. The die cut "All Boy" title is from Cricut's Boys Will be Boys cartridge and the tree is Straight from the Nest cartridge. I used two different sized hole punches to cut out the tree. The twine is from Tim Holz and the wood mustache embellies from BoBunny.

Happy Easter!! Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
