Two double layouts - "Bath Time" and "It's a Girl Thing"

Hope you are all having a wonderful day. Mine has been filled with a busy, busy work day, emptying dishwasher, making dinner, and now time it's time to share a couple of layouts.

Once again, sweet Scarlet is the center of this Grandma's scrapping attention. She's a doll and these pictures are too precious....Rub-a-dub-chubb! LOL! I can't get over how she's changed. She's walking now and no longer bathes in my kitchen sink. =)

 The Chevron patterned paper is My Minds Eye. The bottom border may be from a Martha Stewart baby pack. Cuteness!

 Her smile melts my heart! The duckys were cut with Cricut, layered together, and then run through Cuddlebug for a feathery look. The title is also cut with Cricut's "New Arrival" cartridge. (Thank you, Jodi!)

This next layout is really old. Not sure why I haven't posted it until now. It's obviously pre-Scarlet! We had so much fun with the baby shower and had great pictures....My son, husband, and Brother-in-Law drank milk from baby bottles for one of the games.

 The fabric flowers and punched and stamped owls were leftover decorations, so it seemed appropriate to use them on the scrapbook page. We were just so tickled to get a girl for our first grandbaby!!! My husband and I raised to wonderful boys, and I grew up with a brother (no sisters). I've been deprived of all things pink and ruffly. We sure are making up for lost time in the pink side of life!!

Two Page baby layout - So Many Reasons

Hello friends! My week has been crazy busy. I believe it is well past time for a little distraction from all things work related and time for some blogging. It's chilly and drafty in our house tonight, so I will have to type fast to keep my fingers from freezing. =]

Today, another sweet baby layout of my new grandbaby. These are her newborn portraits. So beautiful!*

 Patterned paper is My Minds Eye. I love the vintage look of the paper in this MME stack! Lots of wood grains, florals, and chevrons.

Here is a closeup of the embellishments including Prima flowers, pearl drops, stick pin, and amazing crocheted flowers and leaves. Thank you so much to my BSBFF who slaved over these crocheted flowers for me!! I LOVE them!!

Two Page layout - Comfy

It's been so long since I've scrapped! Okay, so maybe it's only been a month, but that seems way too long. Thankfully, I have a weekend retreat on my calendar for early March, and I can hardly wait!

Most of my recent scrapbooking attention is directed to our sweet grandbaby girl, Scarlet Rose!!! We have so many adorable pictures. It's so hard to pick and choose which pictures to scrap, because I love looking at them all.

She is almost 9 months old now, but this layout is older, when she was about 3-4 weeks old. So tiny and brand new! The picture credit goes to my youngest son who has a great eye for photography. I love the angles.

Our son's family lives about 15 minutes away and we are blessed to have them so close. We get together at least once a week for a family dinner at our house, but usually we are together more often than that. It's so amazing to watch this beautiful baby girl grow.

Of course, I used the Stampin Up 5 petal punch for the flowers. The tag was cut with my Cricut as well as the title from Graphically Speaking cartridge. The little birds and tree are adorable, aren't they? I cut those with my Cricut too, but I'm not sure which cartridge I used.

Double layout - Snow Fun

Thanks so much to somebody on the Google forum who answered my question on my issues with uploading pictures. Turns out it is a known issue that they are fixing...Until then, there is a work around!! YAY! What a huge help! Thank you Google person!!

Yes, my Christmas decorations are still up. Anybody else??? Maybe I'm the last one in all the land? I hope not. We do love Christmas at our house, we get busy, and well it just takes us awhile. Since the snow all melted away, the reality of all the decorations hanging around is starting to get to me. Maybe this weekend....but no guarantees.

In honor of our melted snow, I'm posting a snowy layout from last winter with our dog, Riley. He is such a good boy. We think he's very handsome too. =) That was his first winter. He's from a dog racing track in Alabama, but he obviously adores the snow!!

I had "snow" much fun with this layout. First of all the paper is a from the We R Memory Keepers, Teen Angst collection. I can't get enough of the grungy, inked- up look. I added nothing to the paper. The snowflakes are texture embossed with a snowflake folder, and swiss dots. I love the texture it added. The centers of the snowflakes are popped with foam adhesive squares.

 

I used two different strips of paper under the picture grid. The top one is red paper strip punched with a scalloped border punch. I wadded it all up in my hand, and then flattened it out and used it for my journalling. The bottom strip was fringed with my Martha Stewart scissors. I cut the long strip into small 2" pieces and then placed them at random so they look uneven at the bottom. I'm not sure what possessed me to do this, but I like the way it came out. I like it with the slightly misaligned picture grid.

Double layout - "No Shave November"

The men in my family like to show their manliness by growing out their facial hair for "No-Shave November".  My youngest is definitely gifted in the facial hair department. I remember when his face was so soft and smooth, like a baby's bottom...LOL! However, being a young, single, college guy now, he can do what he wants with his facial hair, so he takes full advantage every November....neck hair and all....eeeeeew.

 

Some of the guys at work participated too. I snapped a picture at the end of the month. Thankfully, they all shaved their necks. =)

I made my own mustaches with two different Cricut cartridges...The top and bottom are from Everyday Paper Dolls. These hair pieces look amazingly like mustaches, don't they? The middle one is from the Paisley cartridge (2 paisleys flipped and overlapped). Loving the argyle paper...looks so manly...and just happened to compliment the colors in the photos nicely.

 

My son made silly faces everyday when he took his picture. He really is quite handsome...more so during the other 11 months of the year. =) You'll have to trust me on that.

 

This is a crazy busy time of year, but I will do my best to post more often...Next time with some cute layouts of my sweet grandbaby, rather than unshaven men. =)

Double layout - "Bushels of Fun"

Our neighorhood trees are just starting to light up with all of the beautiful colors of all. This is definitely my favorite time of year! I do wish it would stay warm for another month or two, though. Hope the color show will last as long as possible.

Last year our family made a trip to the apple orchard. The apples were very picked over, but we had fun. In fact, the weather was really hot and sticky that day. My son and daughter-in-law joined us. I've heard the apple crop is not very good this year, but we may need to go look at the gourds and pumpkins, and buy some cider. I think it should be a new tradition, especially now that our first grandbaby is here to join in the fun of it all!!!

Here's my hubby taking a bite!! I made the banner with my Cricut. It even cuts the holes for the string.

I love any color of woodgrain paper that I can find. Can't get enough!!  I used a pink/red shade for my title as well as the green. I thought the tiny ball fringe ribbon was super cute with the apple theme.

Two Double Layouts: "Sunny Outlook" and "You & Me"

What a great Sunday I'm having. Our youngest son sang on the worship team at church, and our oldest son, his wife, and our new grandbaby surprised us by showing up!!! I love those kinds of surprises!!! He works Sundays, but took the day off so he could be at church for his brother's last day to serve on the worship team before heading back to BSU. We are so blessed by our kids, especially now that they are young adults. They never cease to amaze me!! It has to be God's doing, because Mark and I couldn't have raised them to be so awesome by ourselves...Trust me on that!

We haven't had much of a chance to get away together this year. This layout is from a long weekend getaway to Lake Michigan last summer. This is our youngest son who will be a sophomore at BSU this year. We took turns behind the camera.

Apparently I forgot to write down the supplies that are used here, but I know the yellow paper and the paper with the large polk-a-dots is StampinUp. I cut a circle for the sun with my Circut, but cut my own freehand triangles for the rays.

The title was cut on my Circut and I used matching buttons on the "o's". I dated it with my new Smashbox date stamp.

Then it was our son's turn behind the camera and he shot some of me and my hubby. The papers here are Bazill cardstock and StampinUp "Sweet Pea" stack.The orange tape is "Great Escape" from We R Memory keepers.

 The "Fabulous" tag is from Smashbox and the layered up flowers were cut with Art Philosophy cartridge, plus a few fabric flowers I bought at the store.

 I added some additional journalling around the edge of the mat.

Double scrapbook layout - "Glorious Views"

Hello!! Happy Monday to all. What a glorious day we are having here in northeast Indiana!! The weather is just perfect. We really need rain, but if it's not going to rain, I pick this every day!

It's definitely time to post another double scrapbook page featuring more pictures from our Lake placid, NY trip last year. The views were spectacular.

 The patterned paper is K & C Company "Happy Trails". I used my Fiskars postage stamp border punch and StampinUp! flower punch on this side. The felt leaves are also from SU.

 The  font was cut with Cricut's Art Philosophy cartridge. I use the cartridge ALLLLL the time. If you only want to get one cartridge (plese realize it would be next to impossible to restrain yourself to only one), this would be THE one to get. I used strip style journalling and miscellaneous buttons to top off the flowers.

Two Double Layouts - "Welcome to Costa Rica" and "Paradise"

Hello! Time has just been flying by for me lately. It's definitely time for another post.

Both of these layouts feature pictures taken in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica, one of the ports on our 25th anniversary cruise a few Decembers ago. Yes, I'm still working on this album. I'm hoping to get it done before our first grandbaby is born. I'm pretty sure I won't want to scrap anything but her once she's here. I will have to force myself to finish some of these projects.

We took a bus from the port to the edge of the rainforest and then boarded a covered wagon ride into the rainforest. Can I just say how thrilled I was that it was covered? It rained all day and we would have been drenched without it.

The leaf border and larger leaves on the right side are cut with Cricut's "Life is a Beach" cartridge. I inked the edges with a brown ink spot. The title is from Circut "Jubilee".

It had been raining a lot there so you can see how the river is really swollen and running fast. The tour bus actually crossed the bridge in the photo (bottom right). I was holding my breath!!

Here are the two sides together. Didn't I look adorable in my bright blue raincoat? No...but I scrapped the photo anyway!

Next are random shots of all the flowers we saw in the rainforest. What an amazing place!! I won't atempt to bore you with all of the flower names, because I don't remember them all. The paper is We R Memories "Great Escape" line. I sometimes struggle with titles, but again the "Life is a Beach" cartridge came through for me. I made the title the centerpiece of the page and popped it up with foam squares and accented it with layered photo corners.

Two new double layouts - "Boat Tour" and "Lake Homes"

Happy Tuesday! Oh what a crazy life I live right now. I've really missed my blogging time! I hate when  a week goes by without a post; however, sometimes it just can't be helped.

Today I want to share a few more double layouts that I recently completed of our trip to Lake Placid last September. My hubby and I took a boat tour of Lake Placid on a cute little pontoon boat...It was wonderful! The lake houses were simply amazing and so ridiculously magnificent. I can't even imagine this kind of lifestyle.

I found this lovely paper at a wonderful little gift shop/scrapbook store in the town of Lake Placid. Oh no...I just noticed that the bottom half of my "t" in the title has peeled off. What? How frustrating, to notice that now as I'm posting. =( ...Anyway, the paper was so pretty, that I simply matted the photos in off-white and overlapped them in the center of the layout. StampinUp's decorative label punch was perfect for the journalling.

I matted the 3 wallet size photos together, film strip style, with a little extra on the right. The border stamp is also from StampinUp for just a little extra detail on the page.

Here are the two pages together, so you can see the whole picture of the beautiful mahogany boat. These boats are worth a huge amount of money and we saw plenty of them parked in the boat garages along the edge of the lake.

 

The embellishments on this second layout are also from the cute little scrapbook shop in town. I loved these little brads and stickers! The paper on the left side page wasn't from there; however, and the brand is escaping me. I will try to look that up and add a comment below. The strip down the middle was a bit of an experiment. The paper is folded up and attached with a brad in the center of each fold. I fringed the ends with the Martha Stewart fringing scissors. The title was cut with my Cricut machine, Lyrical Letters cartridge.

On the right side, I used more of the fun paper purchased there in town. There were so many great pictures of this boat tour, the simplest way to scrap as many as possible was to print wallets and lay them out in a grid. This left plenty of space for my strip style journalling and the cute little "HOME" sticker that came with the mystery paper (left side). I love when I find papers and embellishments that all blend, even though, they're not from the same manufacturer. The house embellishment (lower right) was cut with my Cricut machine, Going Places cartridge. How perfect is that? =)

Two double layouts - "The Climb" and "Natural Beauty"

Happy Wednesday! Hope you are all enjoying your week.

Today I have two layouts from the Adirondack Mountains in New York to share with you. Whiteface Mountain is in Wilmington, NY near Lake Placid. I was there at a class updating my insurance designation and we were so blessed to be able to do some sight-seeing!!

The first layout is mainly Basic Grey. The papers seemed to have a "royal" flare and worked well to highlight the cool stone castle on top of the mountain.

The diecuts were all cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge. The gemstones on each Fleur di lis helped them pop off the page along with a little bit of Tim Holtz pumice stone ink around the edges. I love my husband sitting in this old chair made of birchwood inside the castle. This place was too cool! The key in the bottom right hand corner is also cut with Art Philosophy. I covered it with Glossy Accents to make it shiny and a little bit 3D.

This next layout highlights some of the great views that we saw on our way up and back down the mountain. I have plenty more layouts to show you from this trip last September. I'm about done with the mountain layouts, and will be starting my pictures from Niagara Falls, next time I get a chance. 

Here's the quaint building that welcomes you to the beautiful scenic drive up the mountain. They told us it would be a bit foggy up there for a little while, but that it would clear, and they were exactly right. The chipboard and letters were purchased and made it a quick layout. I added some Tim Holtz masking tape and a little bit of ribbon.
