Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Zoo Day - Fun Day"

 My sweet Scarlet tickling the orangutan's chin. She's so adorable. It was a fun way to spend time as a family before Jacob (and girlfriend Katie) went back to college.

 We have a great zoo in Fort Wayne. It ranks up there as one of the best children's zoos in the country. #FWproud

Two Page Layout - "9 Months"

This cute little guy is about to turn two years old in April!! Time flies. I'm so far behind on scrapping. This layout is his 9 month pictures. Isn't he just a little doll baby?

 I love these big blue eyes, and that bald little head. Time is flying way too fast with our grandchildren, just as it did with our own children.

Thinking back really puts time into perspective and helps you realize what's really important in life.

One Page Layout - Happy Birthday Gramma

Birthdays are so much fun! Grandchildren definitely make getting old so much more worthwhile. Here's one of my favorite little one-page layouts from my birthday a few years back.

This vintage paper is from Echo Park "This & That" along with all of the stickers and die cuts. I felt it was pretty appropriate (given my age...lol). The title font is from Cricut's Jubilee "stilts" and the lovely pink brackets are cut with Cricut's Art Philosophy cartridge.

I apologize the pictures are a bit smaller than I normally post. Blogger is being dumb and not letting me change them to a large size. Not sure what is going on...but it looks like I need to live with it for now.

Two double layouts - "Bath Time" and "It's a Girl Thing"

Hope you are all having a wonderful day. Mine has been filled with a busy, busy work day, emptying dishwasher, making dinner, and now time it's time to share a couple of layouts.

Once again, sweet Scarlet is the center of this Grandma's scrapping attention. She's a doll and these pictures are too precious....Rub-a-dub-chubb! LOL! I can't get over how she's changed. She's walking now and no longer bathes in my kitchen sink. =)

 The Chevron patterned paper is My Minds Eye. The bottom border may be from a Martha Stewart baby pack. Cuteness!

 Her smile melts my heart! The duckys were cut with Cricut, layered together, and then run through Cuddlebug for a feathery look. The title is also cut with Cricut's "New Arrival" cartridge. (Thank you, Jodi!)

This next layout is really old. Not sure why I haven't posted it until now. It's obviously pre-Scarlet! We had so much fun with the baby shower and had great pictures....My son, husband, and Brother-in-Law drank milk from baby bottles for one of the games. 

Yes, I'm now kind of an owl freak!  If you want to see the posts about the decorations, you can check it out here and here. These two posts are some of the most frequently viewed on my blog. Apparently there are other owl freaks out there. =)

 The fabric flowers and punched and stamped owls were leftover decorations, so it seemed appropriate to use them on the scrapbook page. We were just so tickled to get a girl for our first grandbaby!!! My husband and I raised to wonderful boys, and I grew up with a brother (no sisters). I've been deprived of all things pink and ruffly. We sure are making up for lost time in the pink side of life!!

Scrapbook layout - "Adore" and Tape Techniques

Every year the insurance company I work for honors our Top Agents from the prior year. It's always a fun and rewarding week. There are two of us who are primarily in charge of the events, and it was another huge success... I'm a little worn out today, but a relaxing weekend and a nice visit from my sweet grandbaby always helps recharge me.

Speaking of Scarlet, it's definitely time to share another layout. This is a rare one-pager for me! But these two pictures melt my heart and are deserving of all the attention. =)

Super simple technique 1: Punched up Washi Tape! Use any border punch on one edge of your tape. If you look closely (double click photo) you will see the scalloped edge of theTim Holtz red-lettered tape under each picture. This particular tape has a backing on it that you peel off. To get this look, cut your tape to the length you want and leave the paper on the back. Simply use a border punch along the edge of the tape, then peel off the paper and adhere to your page.  If you are using the kind of tape that doesn't have a paper backing you can still get this look. Just adhere your tape to a sheet of paper (or Vellum to keep the see-through look of the tape), use your straight trimmer along the edges of the tape, and then use your punch on one edge. You will have to use adhesive to attach it with the second method.

Super simple technique 2:  Inked up Washi Tape! The Tim Holtz tape used here is offwhite. I wasn't sure how it would take the ink, but it turned out great! Super easy...Cut your tape to size, adhere it temporarily to a non-stick work surface like a vinyl sheet that you would use for stamping or gluing. Dab a sponge into your inkpad and then smear the sponge onto your tape. Repeat, if you want more color.  After it dries, adhere it permanently to your project. This will save big money because it allows you to transform the same roll of tape into many, many different colors.

The leaves, bracket matt, and heart were cut with my Cricut. I layered up purchased paper flowers with a decorative brad from StampinUp! and added a little baker's twine to the tag tucked under the picture. The sketch is from Sketchabilities.

How time flies...our sweet Scarlet is now pulling herself up and cruising around the furniture!! We just love being grandparents!! Apparently, this Grandma needs to get caught up on her scrapbooking and post some more layouts. =)

Two page layouts - "Sleepy Head" and "Bundle of Joy"

Hello scrappy friends! I have just enough time for a quick post and today, it's two for the price of one because it's been awhile.

First up is "Sleepy Head". This layout was really out of the box for me. I fell in love with the doodle-look paper and then I had a little bit of trouble trying to figure out how to make it work. In the end, I was happy with it.

Left side:  Most of these doodles were all on the paper. How fun!!I had some leftover glitter tulle for rolling up some fun flowers. They are a little thicker than what I normally put on a page, but super cute.

 Right side: I was not in love with this page until I used the texture folder on the red cardstock. That made all the diference. I freehanded some clouds to match the doodled clouds on the opposite page. The pink and red on one page was a bit of a challenge for me...but now I am pleased with it.

Here's a closeup of the tulle button flowers. I used clear gemstones, but colored them with sharpies for more of an impact.

Here are the two sides together. My grandbaby is such a DOLL!! We sure are enjoying her.

Next up...Bundle of Joy. This layout is from when she was fresh out of the NICU. I believe it was our first visit to their house after they brought her home....so fresh and sweet!!

Left:  Most everything on this page is from the Bundle of Joy paper pack (Echo Park). I added the Tim Holtz washi tape and the lace at the top. These are my two boys lovin' on Scarlet....Proud papa Joel is in the upper right and lower left. Uncle Jacob sure does love her too. =)

Right:  More borders and embellishments from the Bundle of Joy pack. I love these pictures of my son and daugher-in-law standing on the front porch of their home with their new and precious bundle of joy. They were so happy to bring her home!!! It brings tears to my eyes just remembering all of the emotion.

Two Page baby layout - So Many Reasons

Hello friends! My week has been crazy busy. I believe it is well past time for a little distraction from all things work related and time for some blogging. It's chilly and drafty in our house tonight, so I will have to type fast to keep my fingers from freezing. =]

Today, another sweet baby layout of my new grandbaby. These are her newborn portraits. So beautiful!*

 Patterned paper is My Minds Eye. I love the vintage look of the paper in this MME stack! Lots of wood grains, florals, and chevrons.

Here is a closeup of the embellishments including Prima flowers, pearl drops, stick pin, and amazing crocheted flowers and leaves. Thank you so much to my BSBFF who slaved over these crocheted flowers for me!! I LOVE them!!

Two Page layout - Comfy

It's been so long since I've scrapped! Okay, so maybe it's only been a month, but that seems way too long. Thankfully, I have a weekend retreat on my calendar for early March, and I can hardly wait!

Most of my recent scrapbooking attention is directed to our sweet grandbaby girl, Scarlet Rose!!! We have so many adorable pictures. It's so hard to pick and choose which pictures to scrap, because I love looking at them all.

She is almost 9 months old now, but this layout is older, when she was about 3-4 weeks old. So tiny and brand new! The picture credit goes to my youngest son who has a great eye for photography. I love the angles.

Our son's family lives about 15 minutes away and we are blessed to have them so close. We get together at least once a week for a family dinner at our house, but usually we are together more often than that. It's so amazing to watch this beautiful baby girl grow.

Of course, I used the Stampin Up 5 petal punch for the flowers. The tag was cut with my Cricut as well as the title from Graphically Speaking cartridge. The little birds and tree are adorable, aren't they? I cut those with my Cricut too, but I'm not sure which cartridge I used.

Two new double layouts "Sweet" and "All Our Love"

Earlier this year our son and daughter-in-law brought our first grandbaby into this world!!! We are loving being grandma and grandpa. We are so over the moon for this little girl!!! She has filled our world with PINK, ruffles, lace, flowers, and all things sugar and spice for the first time. Having raised two boys, we are thrilled with this new world of all things girley, girl!!

Needless to say she has also changed my scrapping world with fun new girley embellishments and paper colors, that I've never needed before. =)

 Our sweet baby girl spent 2 weeks in the NICU. She was 5 weeks early and her lungs had some fluid in them and needed a little more time to mature. It was really hard for us all to see her all wired up, but so thankful that her time there was short!!

 Here she is heading home sweet home.

I had a lot of fun with the banner, flowers, pink owl, and embellies!!!

 

What a treat to snuggle up with this sweetheart. She has captured our heart from day one. Such a snuggly bug!!

 I wrapped bakers twine around a chipboard frame and layered it up with a heart and felt flower. The banner is made from folded over punched circles.

 

The strip along the right side is from the paper stack packaging, Cloud 9 Design.
