Two Page Layout - "Beach Bums"

Our family vacation to a beach house in St. Augustine was amazing! We brought home some spectacular beach pictures, and they were some of my favorite photos to scrap.

 This gorgeous woodgrain heavy duty cardstock is Authentique Heidi Swapp. It was perfect for these sunshiny beach pictures of my precious family. The washi tape is Pink Paislee's "Indigo Bleu". I used a blue matt for the pictures in the center of the double layout and used Fiskar's postage stamp edge punch.

 The gulls, pelican, and title came from Circuit's Life is a Beach cartridge. We saw so many pelicans, gliding along the shoreline. The lizards were entertaining and we even saw a few spiders, which I refuse to remember in a scrapbook page.

We had so many amazing pictures, that it was extremely hard to narrow down the ones I wanted to scrap. The grid design of this layout and varying the size and shape of the photos really helps to pack them in with style.

 The Basic Grey circle banner was a cute nautical addition to the upper right corner of the layout.

The tags were from a sheet of miscellaneous tags in the DCWV travel stack. I used a hole punch and some twine to complete the layered look.

Two Page Cruise Layout - "Sail Away"

Cruises are wonderful. This layout is from our 25th anniversary trip which was 3 years ago now. I'm ready for another! We had a wonderful relaxing time aboard the Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas.

I wanted to remember the exact cabin we were in so I took a picture of the number on the door and used my scalloped punch to make an embellishment out of it. I found the cute little star stick pins in my stash. The banners are both made from washi tape.

 The picture of the luggage lined up in the hallway always makes me a little sad since it represents the last evening on board.

Grid layouts like this work so well when you have a lot of random pictures. These pics are "true digital" size. They're a tiny bit under 6" (4 x 5.3 to be exact) which allows you to fit even more of them on a page.

Two Page layout - Comfy

It's been so long since I've scrapped! Okay, so maybe it's only been a month, but that seems way too long. Thankfully, I have a weekend retreat on my calendar for early March, and I can hardly wait!

Most of my recent scrapbooking attention is directed to our sweet grandbaby girl, Scarlet Rose!!! We have so many adorable pictures. It's so hard to pick and choose which pictures to scrap, because I love looking at them all.

She is almost 9 months old now, but this layout is older, when she was about 3-4 weeks old. So tiny and brand new! The picture credit goes to my youngest son who has a great eye for photography. I love the angles.

Our son's family lives about 15 minutes away and we are blessed to have them so close. We get together at least once a week for a family dinner at our house, but usually we are together more often than that. It's so amazing to watch this beautiful baby girl grow.

Of course, I used the Stampin Up 5 petal punch for the flowers. The tag was cut with my Cricut as well as the title from Graphically Speaking cartridge. The little birds and tree are adorable, aren't they? I cut those with my Cricut too, but I'm not sure which cartridge I used.

Double layout - "Rainforest"

Hello and happy Wednesday!

I have an announcement to make. I'm a Grandma to an absolutely precious and beautiful baby girl. She's our first grandchild and we are so excited. She had a bit of a rough start in the NICU because she was 5 weeks early. All is well now and we are so grateful and feel blessed beyond belief. She has captured our hearts. We had two boys, so a girl is a very special treat!!!  Let the spoiling begin!!

As you can imagine, we've been a little preoccupied for the past 3 weeks...so it's definitely time to share another layout with you. This one is from our shore excursion to Costa Rica during our 25th anniversary cruise. I'm slowly working my way through all of the pictures.

The red cardstock made a great backdrop for all of the lush tropical photos. I framed each photo with a very thin white mat to help it stand out. The title is cut with Cricut's "Life is a Beach" cartridge. There is no shadow for it, so I cut a size up and offset the green from the red.

I used a white gel pen for journalling on and around the pictures.  

 Check out the tree frog. I cut out two frogs (Life is a Beach) of the same size. I cut the legs off the second one to use popped up as a layer to give it a 3D look. I drew on the black speckles and covered it all with Glossy Accents to make it shiny and wet looking. I put it on top of a fancy cut  stamped and embossed leaf.

Double layout - "Fast Rides"

Hello! I finished this layout recently of pictures that my husband took at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year. My husband took Jacob and met part of his family there and they all had a great time checking out all of the fast rides...

The title was cut with Nate's Alphabet (Cricut) font for the caps, and Lyrical Letters for the remainder. I had a bunch of pictures, but I didn't want to do more than one two-pager on the event. I printed most of the pictures in wallets.

I used a few SU stamps in the corners. I wish they had come out a little darker.

I took this closeup so I could point out my favorite car....I wasn't there, but as I looked through the photos, I asked myself which of these rides I might pick...This is the one! They would all be a VAST improvement on what we're driving now. Honestly, though, I'm happy if they're dependable and I don't care too much about the rust...lol!

 I laid this out on two perpindicular lines. This method really helped get them all on here in a pleasing way. The few larger pictures became the focal points. Inserting the journalling spot into the mix helps break it up a little and give it character.

Spirit Week - Homecoming double layout

Here's one that didn't turn out how I originally planned, but I ended up liking it a lot. I'm sure that never happens to you?For homecoming week, the highschoolers decorate a portion of the hallway according to a certain theme. This year's theme was Winter Olympics. They did a great job. They also dress crazy and have all kinds of other competitions between the classes. I love the picture of the large gum ball. Eeeeew! Apparently, everybody gets to add to the ball when they want to dispose of their gum...less gum under the desks now, I hope?

Anyway, I should have stamped further out along the edge of the page. My pictues cover up most of the background stamps. You should be able to double click the photo to enlarge it. I used the Stampin Up "Elements" collection. (I think that is what they're called.) Hope Angie appreciates the free "plug" for SU stamps. My collection is growing!

Double Double- Prom Scrapbook layouts

Yes...I'm posting two prom layouts for you today as a reward for sticking with me through a week (or more) without a new post....lol
This first layout is one that I did for the family album of Jacob's Jr/Sr Keystone banquet (aka Prom). The theme was "Hollywood Premiere".
I used a full page diecut with hearts cut out and filled some of the negative heart spaces with black and white patterned paper. I used a pink and white theme because it seemed to bring out the best in the pictues. Honestly, if there is a girl anywhere in my photo, I kinda jump on the chance to use a little pink.

The second layout is for Jacob's book. I featured him and Anna with a 5x7 and then completely packed in a bunch of wallet size photos. I knew he would want to remember everything about that night, so I put them down without a lot of rhyme or reason. The flowers are made of silky white (petals) and green (stems and leaves) ribbon.I just kept sticking them on the page. lol! I love all of the shots, but to me it's a little too much chaos. Somehow, I knew he would love it. When I showed it to him that night he was so excited. It was his favorite page and because there were so many memories packed into one layout. Again, not my favorite layout. It won't win any awards, but if he loves it, that is what really matters!
