Horsin' Around - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

 Here's another layout to share from our trip to Wyoming's beautiful Grand Tetons. We stayed inside the Teton Village. These horses lived on the corner as your turn into the village. We rode bikes past there a few times, and had to stop and talk to them. 

Of course, I wanted to bring one home with us💗!!  Do they even have a clue of their beautiful surroundings? They're living the best horse life possible! They can wallow in the mud, munch on the grass, or hang at the fence and mingle with the curious tourists for lots of "pets".

For this layout I used Kaiser Kraft's "Let's Go Collection" and ephemera. I'm not sure if the brown leather look paper was part of that set or something from my scrap stash. I designed the title in Design Space and also cut the camera, horse silhouette, and horseshoe. I went with Cricut journaling cut into strips. Pretty simple layout! The focus stays on the beautiful creatures! Wish I had a picture of myself with them, because I was much more enthralled than my hubby.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Penobscot Bridge"

Here's another layout from our trip to Bar Harbor, Maine a few years ago. We passed this bridge as we were travelling to and from our destination! We loved the cool architecture and the views were amazing.

 Sometimes when I post my layouts I notice something I should have done differently. I love the layout, but wish I would have skooched the letters closer together int he first word of the title. Oh well....

 Love the amazing blaze of colors against the blue sky!

Summer scrapbook layouts - "Moomers" & "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay"

Here in the midwest, summer doesn't last for long! The warm weather is fleeting. Sometimes it's even too warm to enjoy it much. At least, that is the way I feel about summer. BUT...It's never too hot for ice cream!
Moomers

 Moomers is a great ice cream place just outside of Traverse city. You will also find a few locations up that way that will sell it from their storefront. However, to get the full experience, you really need to go to their rural location and watch the cows eating hay, while you're eating your ridiculously yummy ice cream!

 They've won a lot of awards for their ice cream! But we were there before the secret was out, and before the long lines.  But don't let the lines stop you. They move fast and it's worth the wait!!

Aside from the ice cream, this was a special trip for us since it was the last trip that our son accompanied us on as a single guy! We had a lot of fun together and made special memories together. But we've gained a daughter since that time, so it's all good!! ♥

Sitting on the Dock of the Bay
Here's another layout from our northen Michigan trip a few years ago.

 Part of our purpose for going was for me to take my annual class to update my insurance designation. This year it was in Traverse City. It's great to have my hubby and son come along to spend the evenings together. They also enjoy spending the day riding bikes, or at the waters edge.

 These pics were taken at the pier right downtown after dinner one evening. If you've never been to one of Michigan's great lakes, you need to go! I'm partial to Lake Michigan for so many reasons! It's one of our favorite stomping grounds.

Scrapbook Layout - "Sunset Views"

Here's a layout from our trip to Northern Michigan last year. The sun was setting while we travelling up the coast, so we stopped at the nearest harbor we could find to catch the last rays fading behind the horizon.

 It was a gorgeous night! I'd never heard of Bowers Harbor until that day, but it was beautiful!

 I love the silhouettes of my son looking out towards the lake. This was his last vacation with us as a single guy. He's getting married next month! We hope to take a trip there with our kids, their spouses and our grandchildren in the next few years.

Two Page Layout - "Together is a Wonderful Place"

 We try to get away as an extended family with my husband's siblings once a year. Last year, we rented a small house in Holland, MI for two nights. We had a great time together. I love that we make time for each other even though their parents have been gone for several years.  Our time together is usually spent sitting around the table talking, eating, and playing games. Sometimes we split up and the girls and guys do separate activities for a few hours.

This layout features pictures taken at a downtown restaurant. We had such a great time goofing off.

 

Two double layouts!! - Family Beach Vacation photo shoot

I hope that you and your family have taken time to enjoy a vacation together recently. Last May, we splurged on one week at a beach house in St. Augustine, Florida. What a treat! We made some great memories together. We planned in advance to take some family photos, so we set the theme and everybody packed an outfit for the photo shoot.

The paper is My Mind's Eye "Collectible". The title is cut with Cricut's Art Philosophy.

We didn't really know any photographers in the area, nor did we want to spend the money for a professional, so my husband took them! We love how they turned out and all the memories they bring back.

 This is my oldest son (above), his beautiful wife, and our precious grandbaby! We had a lot of fun together. It was so great to have all of us under one roof. They have a beautiful baby boy now, so maybe we will have to go again soon!

 Next up (below) is my youngest son and his (then) girlfriend. Here's where it gets tricky...All these beautiful photos that we'd love to display, with these two beautiful, photogenic people. But it's a little awkward since she is no longer part of the family. We enjoyed our time there together, though, so I still scrapbooked them all. Now that a little time has passed since the breakup, the memories are still sweet.

 Aren't these pictures fabulous? The weather had been so windy and a little unpredictable the whole week. But this evening, there was a perfect couple of hours just as the sun was getting lower in the sky. The clouds rolled in as we were finishing up. Thanks, God!

 The die cuts are also from MME "The Sweetest Thing" collection and the title is cut from the Jubilee cartridge. I adore this sunny woodgrain paper (MME Collectibles)!!  I wish I had more!

These layouts are some of my favorites!! My hubby did such a great job with the pictures and we had fun in the process. I have several more to share with you...another day.

Two Page Layout - "Together"

Here's another layout with pictures from our trip to St. Augustine. As the journaling states, the best part of this trip for me was having all of us under one roof, just doing life together by the beach, for a whole week!! We made a lot of memories that will last a lifetime.

I just have to point out one of my favorite pictures (bottom left), where my oldest son is hamming it up on the boardwalk when he realized his Dad had the camera out. He is such a hoot! My granddaughter steals the layout, though, with her precious expressions looking out the window.

Loving this Jillibean Soup paper, American Crafts and "Amy Tangerine". The water color looks very beachy and colorful. I used a utility knife to cut around the flower in the lower left corner allowing the flower to creep up over the edge of the picture. A little glue pen and blue glitter really made the black and white sketched flower sparkle. The black title "together" is from Cricut's Graphically Speaking.

The diecut black flower is Cricut's Art Philosophy. I used my label maker with clear tape for the journaling. The brads are My Minds Eye Collectable by Jen Allison.

I really love the artsy look of this page. It's a different style for me, but it was fun. My favorite part is the black diecut accents.

Two Page Layout - "Beach Bums"

Our family vacation to a beach house in St. Augustine was amazing! We brought home some spectacular beach pictures, and they were some of my favorite photos to scrap.

 This gorgeous woodgrain heavy duty cardstock is Authentique Heidi Swapp. It was perfect for these sunshiny beach pictures of my precious family. The washi tape is Pink Paislee's "Indigo Bleu". I used a blue matt for the pictures in the center of the double layout and used Fiskar's postage stamp edge punch.

 The gulls, pelican, and title came from Circuit's Life is a Beach cartridge. We saw so many pelicans, gliding along the shoreline. The lizards were entertaining and we even saw a few spiders, which I refuse to remember in a scrapbook page.

We had so many amazing pictures, that it was extremely hard to narrow down the ones I wanted to scrap. The grid design of this layout and varying the size and shape of the photos really helps to pack them in with style.

 The Basic Grey circle banner was a cute nautical addition to the upper right corner of the layout.

The tags were from a sheet of miscellaneous tags in the DCWV travel stack. I used a hole punch and some twine to complete the layered look.

Two Page Layout - "Water Bugs"



Family times are the best! Last May, we took a family vacation together to a beach house in St. Augustine. I took bunches of pictures and it's time to start sharing some of these layouts.

 

 We stayed at a resort with a pool while I was taking some classes for work. The family really got to enjoy all of the amenities, like the beautiful sparkling pool, while I was in class all day.

The paper is Scrapbook Customs and DejaViews. The EK scalloped border punch created the edge around the pink matt. There was just enough space for journaling.

 The title font was cut with Cricut's Lyrical Letters and the layered beach balls are from Life is a Beach. I used a SU marker to create faux stitching along the edges of the beach ball layers.

I cut a sweet picture of my son and granddaughter with a scalloped circle punch and then layered on another scalloped circle in white and popped it on the corner of a picture to give it some dimension.

We had such a great time together!! I can't wait to go again. It's always worth the effort in planning and the money. The memories are priceless and scrapping the pictures will help our family enjoy these memories for years to come.
