Adventure - Two page Travel Scrapbook Layout

Here's another layout from our Grant Tetons trip in Wyoming (2020). Every day was such a beautiful adventure for us!

There is so much wildlife to see in their natural habitat! And the landscape itself is something to behold.
Simple clouds and sun were an easy add to the page. Actually, the sun all the way behind the clouds would have been more accurate for this particular day. 😕

The stamps are the Close to My Heart "Aurora" set. Instructions are given to cut the paper in the right size to frame the stamp. Love this!  I used the CTMH Sapphire ink pad, and also cut a slightly larger mat. The Sapphire ink pad must have been nice and juicy and it came our really bright. I used the square punch (Creative Memories) to cut around the antler stamp. I journaled with my Cricut in Design Space and placed a bracket shape around it, attached and cut/wrote all at the same time, and placed a larger mat to frame the journaling.
The paper is Heidi Swapp "Wolf Pack". The photo corner punch (StampinUp!)  is what actually makes the page for me. It's funny how one little element can be a game-changer.

I really love the plaid with the birch bark paper. The navy mountains were also cut in Design Space to sit on top of the plaid and create a place for my title.
I really like this layout, and LOVE the green and blue together, especially the plaid. I certainly could have layered additional embellishments around the pics, stamps and journaling, but I didn't want to cover up all the pretty paper. 😂

Have a great weekend! I hope to share some more layouts with you next week.

Jenny Lake - Two Page Travel Scrapbook Layout

Sorry that I've been MIA for several weeks. I'm fine! Just got out of the habit of posting for awhile.

Here's a travel layout from September 2020 during our visit to the Cascade Canyon in the heart of the Teton Range in Wyoming. Jenny Lake was the most beautiful inland lake we have seen to date! With beautiful pines framing it all around and the majestic Teton mountains as it's back drop, it's absolutely breathtaking! You need to go see the entire area, if you haven't yet. I can't imagine how much more beautiful it would have been had we not had some of the residual smoke blowing in from the California wildfires.
This is one of those destinations where the pictures will always fall short of the incredible beauty you experience in person.
I used a dark olive green shade of textured Recollections cardstock as a backdrop to a fun blue and green plaid from Close to My Heart's Timber Collection. Scotch brand green wood grain decorative tape makes a nice transition around the edges of the plaid. The Aurora travel stamp set, also from CTMH, came through for the perfect embellishment. This is one of my favorite stamp sets so far for travel layouts.

I designed the title myself from 3 different fonts in Design Space. I usually try to connect the words and letters where I can so that I don't have to line up a bunch of individual letters. I just prefer the way it looks to design my own and it's fun for me. The journaling is also written out with my Cricut and designed to fit in the space available.

Hope you enjoy this layout! My favorite part is the plaid paper and the color combo. I like how it brings out the natural beauty of the photos.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Give Thanks - Two Page Thanksgiving Scrapbook Layout

Happy Thanksgiving to you! I pray this season finds you happy, healthy, and with much to give thanks to our Lord for. We are feeling extra blessed this year to have our two boys, and their families around us for a wonderful feast. Times are crazy and every day is a blessing that needs to be celebrated.

This layout is from 2018, but I thought I'd share it with you today. It's a super simple playout, but I LOVE the wonderful people in these pictures. They make our life complete and so worthwhile!!

The paper and embellishments are all from the same paper pack which is why it is so simple. Everything matches, and you can't go wrong mixing things up. I used two strips of paper on a small patterned pumpkin paper background. I matted all my pictures in white to help them stand out on the page. I even matted some of the embellishments. I love how it turned out, and seeing all of my favorite people in these photos.
Our oldest son and his family had a brand new golden retriever puppy!! How fun to have Archie join in the fun for Thanksgiving. He was obviously the big hit of the party!!

Hope you enjoy celebrating and being thankful for all that life has for you at this time!!

Thanks so much for following my blog!!

Christmas Past - Two Page Scrapbook Layouts

I'm behind on photographing my most recent layouts. This is something I have on my "to do" list while I'm off for the holidays. For now, though, I'd like to reshare some of my favorite Christmas layouts from years past.

These are the sweet little faces of our grand babies helping us find just the right tree. I love that the whole family joins in the fun! I also love the non-traditional Christmas colors of this layout.
Below are pics from one of our extended family gatherings! We always have so much fun together. Presents, games, food and time spent together is the BEST! We feel so blessed to have family that we love to spend time with.
Christmas layouts can be so overwhelming for me. So many pictures, colors and distractions in all of the photos!! I just went with it below and used a lot of wallet size photos scattered randomly. The mainly black background helped tone down all the color, so that I could accentuate it with the title and embellishments. This is my crazy tribe celebrating in our old house for the last time!! :)
Below are my three boys!! I love them dearly! They are especially proud of their facial hair at this time of year. I think they are handsome with or without it! Definitely crazy, but always handsome!
This layout below done in a "Brady Bunch" style grid, is my most pinned Christmas layout on Pinterest.  It was so fun! The 2x2 square photos made space for lots of memories.
Below is another extended family layout which I love, including the family photo shoot with all of us in plaid shirts. I still love the title which I actually dreamed up before we even took the photos!!
Well that is it for my layouts of Christmas past!! Hope you enjoyed! Have a blessed Christmas time with your family! Be sure to take lots of pictures!!

Two Page Birthday Layout - "Another Birthday"

We've officially been in our new home a full year! How exciting!!! Time has flown by, but we're loving this new chapter of our life called empty nesting. Sometimes it's a little lonely, but I'm not home that much to really think about it or get lonely.

This celebration is the first one in our new home! We had only moved in a few weeks prior, but we managed to celebrate my sweet hubby in the midst of it all.
These are my favorite humans right here! We even rocked the group selfie with my oldest creeping on me! I sure do love them all! There are so many families who struggle to get along, but most of the time we enjoy being together. We're so blessed to be in close proximity, too.
I'm loving the polka dot with the little green plaid banners. I used a border punch along the edge, cut some plaid banners to match the photo matts and topped it off with an adorable deer paper clip. I am slightly obsessed with antlers right now. I used my Cricut to write the journaling! It's so much neater than my own. I will continue to throw in some of my own handwriting in all my scrapbooks, though. It's easier, and it makes it more personal. Some day, when I'm gone, they will appreciate seeing my scribbly writing, just as I do my Mom's writing, now that she is gone.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "More Presents"

Here's an after Christmas layout with our extended family at my son's home. We always celebrate in January with my husband's siblings' families. It's always a crazy time of presents, games, laughing and other ridiculousness. We wouldn't have it any other way.
I just love my family! We actually enjoy our time together. I know that's not the case for some families and that makes me sad, but I also "get it". Family dynamics can be tough. I am so very thankful that we are family, but also friends, who choose to make time for each other.
I hope that you have enjoyed some special times with your family and friends this Christmas! You never know what life will bring you, so enjoy each moment that you are able to.
May God bless and keep you and your families during 2019. Happy New Year!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Never Grow Up"

Today, I'm sharing some adorable pics of my sweet little grandson! He's four now, but he was two in these pictures. Oh my word...isn't he the cutest thing ever?? You know he is!
He's all boy and not really into posing for pictures, if you know what I mean. He' much rather be exploring, running, and throwing sticks, rocks, etc.
I love how this mix of papers create a young masculine look, but also keeps the focus on the cute pics! Do you like to mix color photos with black & whites? It took me awhile to try it, but now I mix them up often with professional type portraits.
I have more birthday layouts to share, so stop back soon!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Plaid Tidings"

Last Christmas (2015), we were able to get together with the entire Leonhardt extended family at Mark's sister's home. Her two boys were both there, one of which came from Texas with his wife and two little boys! We had great fun together!!

We'd planned in advance to try to take a giant family photo of all of us together, not knowing when we'd all be togehter again. LOL! We all brought a plaid flannel shirt for the occasion! What a hoot!! The kids don't always cooperate, but that's no big deal.
We invited Santa and Mrs. Claus, who told us the Christmas story from the Bible. We also celebrated family birthdays that we'd missed being together for. The infamous group photo is below under the title. All except my grandson, Sawyer, were pretty excited about the picture, hence the empty chair and him crying in his smiling Mom's lap. I love it! She's learning to roll with the punches and is such an awesome Mom to our grandchildren. as you can see the picture under the star, he was pretty happy to sit in Santa's lap.
We had a great time together! I hope that we can all be together again soon!!
The paper is again Heidi Swapp. I love the black and white bakers twine tied around both pages. I managed to get 9 pictures on here and tell the whole story. I still had room for some cute house and tree embellies. The funniest thing is that I came up with the title for my page way back when we decided to wear the plaid shirts, long before we were even together! I love it when that happens.
Merry Christmas to you and your families!!! Jesus is still the reason for the season! Take time to remember the greatest gift we've been given. Christmas blessings to all of you!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Noel"

As I look at these Christmas pictures from a few years back, not only has my grandbaby changed tremendously, but both of my boys have also changed. I'm so proud of them and the choices they are making in their lives.
We all try to make it to church together for Christmas Eve service, so it's fun to snap a few pictures in the foyer while we were all dressed up. I have a beautiful family and my life is truly blessed by each of them!
This paper is Photo Play's "Dear Santa". I love the plaid flannel look, especially for my burly boys. The noel die cut is from Jolly Holidays with a SU embellishment for the O.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Definitely more Christmas layouts to come.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Go Blue"

We are originally from Michigan, and we are true blue University of Michigan fans. My husband sometimes gets free tickets from work which makes him a very happy man. He loves the game and the time with his sons, friends, or whoever he decides to bring with him.
As you can tell this was a colder game in November of 2014. They look a little cold, but they still had a great time watching Michigan beat Indiana.
I used a bunch of scraps for the embellishments on this page. This is one reason I save my scraps. Sometimes they will give me the inspiration I need for the page. Normally I wouldn't have used green for  U of M page, but the striped piece had green, so I thought, why not? You can only have so many maize and blue pages, right?

Thanks again for stopping by my blog.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Everyday Life"

I tend to take a lot of pictures of life as it happens. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Thankfully we are blessed with a lot of good, and very little of the bad and the ugly. :)
Every Sunday we plan to hang out together as a family, just being together, with on real agenda. Of course, we always eat together, but aside from that, we just play with the kids and get caught up on what's going on in each other's lives. It's not always convenient, but once we make the effort, it's always a great time, with lots of laughs.
Really? What could be better than hanging out with these little cuties?? I remember my grandparents coming over for visits! At the time, it didn't really seem like anything that special, but now as I look back, I remember my Grandma's wonderful laugh, and my Dad telling stories about work, and my brother and I just sitting around doing our own thing as teenagers. I hope that we are making the same kind of memories with our grandkids. :) Wow, I suddenly feel really old.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Go hug your kids or grandkids! I know that you will. :)
