Grow - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Are you enjoying your summer? It seems to be flying by a little quickly for me.

One of my non-crafting hobbies is house plants. I do like to dabble with planting outside flowers. Mainly in pots on the front porch. Nothing like a full garden of flowers. That's too much of a time and attention commitment for me. Unfortunately, this year, we haven't even gotten around to filling our outside planters. It's kind of embarrassing! I just haven't carved out time for it. We hope to get to it once we get back from our upcoming work trip. Hopefully there will still be a decent selection of flowers left at the greenhouses, but I'm not holding my breath.

In years past, we've planted fairy gardens with our grands!! We didn't even get that done yet! I'm hoping it can still happen this season. I don't know if they've missed it, but we have!
These are pics of our fairy and pirate gardens from 2020. Didn't the kids do a great job?? They look pretty proud of their creations. Every year, I cave in and buy her another fairy. I mean, can you really have too many fairies in one garden? 😍 Some of her fairies have migrated into our house and enjoying my house plants. They seem to be content, for now.
Our grandson used pirate toys and two different colors of pebbles to cover the potting soil. So fun!

The paper is BoBunny's "Zip A Dee Doodle" and American Crafts "Lucky Charm". I am crushing on green and blue lately.

I used a tiny bit of my Mom's old yellow measuring tape for a pop of yellow.💗 If you zoom in on it, you will see that is made of fabric and has stitching on it. They don't make it like that any more. I still miss her so much!! She was a master seamstress and sewing was one of her happy places! For more yellow, I added some SU washi tape at the top of a pic and a yellow button on the watering can.

Hope you are feeling inspired today. Have a scrappy week!

Angry Pepper - One Page Layout

We ate at the Angry Pepper while we were in Florida. What a fun place! We really enjoyed the food and the nostalgic decor.

This is my wonderful husband, enjoying his food. He's the best!! Always up for an adventure with me.
The paper is again part from a vintage stack from Crate Paper "the Pier". The banner at the top uses tags and tickets from Recollections and the red button from Jillibean. I tied a little red, white, and blue baker's twine in one of the Kraft tags where I journaled.

Just a simple layout, featuring some great memories with my husband while we were off on our Florida adventure. Thanks for stopping by. One more Florida beach layout to come!

Sunny Days - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Sunny days in Michigan are my favorite!! The lake and sky are so beautiful. We wish we could afford to have a place up there and rent it out part of the time. I mean why not? They make it look so doable on HGTV!! Unfortunately, it always take some money to make some money.

These photos were taken at a lakeside park in Traverse City.

I love all of the sunny colors on this layout. The chevron patterned paper started the color party, with the yellow photo matts running a close second. Cricut journaling is so much more legible than my own handwriting. I wish that weren't the case, but it is very true.

As I look back at this layout, I think of more that I might have added and possibly some pops of black, but I'm still proud of it and hope you are inspired in some way by it.

Have a lovely week!

Birthday Boy - One Page Masculine Birthday Layout

The sun is shining in NE Indiana today and I am grateful! I'm still working from home, but I'm loving the sunshine streaming in the window. I even took a little drive just to soak it in through the sunroof. I hope you are enjoying a beautiful day.

Speaking of sunshine 🌞...this man lights up my world in so many ways. He is my rock and my forever love. I don't know what I'd do without him.

I believe all of the paper used is Graphic 45. I love mixing all of the patterns here! It was fun to put together all of the elements for this page. I rarely pull out my mini alpha stickers, but sometimes they are the perfect touch. The sentiment stickers were from another set of paper, but I think they worked well with the style and colors.

Hope you enjoy your day!! Thanks for stopping by!

Mom's Day - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Mother's day has rolled around again! It's time to celebrate all of the amazing Mother's that we all know and love.♥♥♥♥ My sweet Mom has been gone for a few years now and it's always a tough day for me to celebrate. Yes, I'm still a Mom who is loved and cared for, but I wish I still had my own Mom to love on!  Even though my heart aches for her, she will always live on in my heart as a shining example!!

Here's a layout featuring pictures from Mother's Day last year.
The top picture is my two grown boys. They're 6'4" weight lifters so this pic was kind of fun!! The two beautiful kiddos on the bottom are my grandbabies!!
My family is so good to me!! I am so grateful for the spoiling and the love they shower on me. My hubby is the biggest "spoiler" of all. I try not to give him a list of things I want because he will literally go buy everything on the list.

It's always fun to celebrate my DIL's, especially the amazing Momma to our grandbabies! She deserves all the love and spoiling she can get!! She's had to take on the role of teacher to our grandkids during this pandemic. I know it hasn't been easy and I can't even imagine having to do that for my own kids when they were that age.😖 But they are all thriving and doing great!! Being a Mom is the most important role of all!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Happy Mother's Day!!!

"Birthday Girl" - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Wow! I don't know how time is flying so fast! Indiana is on a Stay at Home order and I've been working my full time job from home for over a month now. We don't go out unless necessary to pick up supplies, occasional fast food pickup, or even more rare drive to work to handle something I can't do at home.

Thankfully, I do love being in my home. But, I am ready for things to start moving towards "normal" again!! I know I'm not alone on that feeling. I miss my family, friends and coworkers.

We're all tired of hearing and reading about the virus, so I will move on to something more fun like sharing a scrapbook page! Today, I have another birthday page. This is my youngest daughter-in-love. She's a keeper and we are proud to have her in our family!
She's not a huge fan of being in the spotlight, but she puts up my need to celebrate all things birthday!! I believe this paper is from Glitz design, including the green strip with black owns. I believe that was the edge of the 12x12 paper. I love owls!!
Every time I see pictures taken in our Dining Room, I really want to get our ship lap project started. The wall is not very flattering to those sitting in front of it. Although, when this was taken, it probably had more to do with my old cell phone camera. In spite of the dreary background, she is a beauty and we so enjoy having her in our family.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope your week is starting out great!

Happy Birthday - One Page Scrapbook Layout

This is our beautiful daughter-in-love on her birthday last year. We are so very happy to have her as part of our family. Our sons have both done well choosing their forever love.
She is such a great wife to my son, Momma to our grandkids, daughter, daughter-in-love,  friend and many other roles that she wears so well. She is much stronger than she thinks she is and takes each new day in stride! She is primarily a Stay At Home Mom and I have so much respect for that role. She is adored by her family...and all of us!

Today is her special day and I hope it is the BEST year yet for her!!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "I Left My Heart in San Francisco"

Our last views of San Francisco were the mighty Golden Gate bridge. This time we viewed it from Bakers Beach and Fort Point.
What a fun and beautiful destination!!! I hope we will be back some day.
The paper is "Trend Setter" from Fancy Pants along with the button and banners. The title font is Lyrical Letters.
I will probably throw in some miscellaneous family posts before I continue with our California Dreamin' vacation album. Hope you will stop back to see the rest of our trip down the Pacific Coast Highway, the Sequoias, Hollywood, and San Diego.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "New Dorm"

My son just graduated from college!!! We are so excited for him and so deeply proud. It was a journey with a lot of ups and downs, but it's done and he's starting to interview for a real job.

If I am remembering correctly, this kid changed rooms every semester, except for two. We were right there with him helping him move all of his belongings each time. That's what we do as parents!! This layout is from a few years back...I'm so far behind in posting layouts. Thanks for hanging in there with me through all of the chaos of life.

The paper is Teen Angst. All of the black smudging is already on there. The wide black rick rack is such a fun accent.
Do you like my attempt at duplicating his wall art? It's not the same, but it's close enough in my book.

It's so great to have him home! I have a few more college layouts that are complete that I'll be posting soon. But, there will be more layouts later on too, because we still have another round of photos from his musical events and of course, graduation!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Double layout - "Ropes"

My favorite time of year seems to be slipping away too quickly! Brrrr! Praying for the East Coast and everybody inland who is dealing with or preparing for "Frankenstorm". That's one serious looking storm on the radar.

Earlier this year we attended a birthday party for a friend of the family. The shindig was at a youth center and they had a fabulous ropes course, up in the rafters of the gymnasium. Crazyness! Not for me, but my son had a ball. Of course, it did make for some great pictures.

Once again, I had a lot of pictures, so placing them in a grid worked the best. The lined graph cardstock helped emphasize all of the horizontals in the pictures. A couple of different border punches on strips of paper help to draw the eye across the two pages.
That's his worried Mama looking up, praying he won't fall. =) The little bungee cords made out of braided hemp didn't photograph very well. When the paper lays flat, as it will inside the plastic sleeve, it looks way better.
I happened to have the hand paperclips on-hand (lol...coudn't resist) in my stash. I used a couple new stamps from SU on Kraft paper inked with black around the edges and a handmade Kraft flower for embellishments. I journalled right on the cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by! Take care and be safe out there in your corner of the world.

Blessings!
Julie
