Baking Spirits Bright - Two Page Christmas Scrapbook Layout

How is it December already? I ask this every year, but I never feel ready to really celebrate the blessings of the Christmas season. How about you? I work full time and don't always feel like getting into a project once I get home from work. I'll blame it on that....but my paycheck helps support our household. We all need to pay the bills, right? I'm super grateful for a job that I love, pays me well, and fills a passion for serving others.

To get me in the spirit, I have a ton of Christmas layouts to share from the last few years. These cookie baking pictures were from 2018. It's been one of our family traditions to make cookies together. It's always a little stressful keeping up with them, manning the oven, and keeping them up to their elbows in frosting and sprinkles, but it has to be one of my favorite Christmas traditions. I hope we will find a way to always make time for this.

I cut the title with my Cricut as well as the wooden baking utensils. Do you love this glitter ric-rac decorative tape? It's fun to pull this out of my stash and use it on my Christmas pages. Look at my granddaughter's expression as I rolled out the chocolate brownie dough!! Priceless!!
The red mixer matches the one in my kitchen. Not that anybody else would know that, but I loved adding it to this page as a reminder. I matted all the photos in white so they would pop off the neutral background. Using wallet size photos, I was able to get 12 pictures on this page and still have room for some design. The only thing missing is the date. Ugh! I do that so often.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. May your Christmas traditions be filled with beautiful family times making memories together.

Baking Spirits Bright - Two Page Scrapbook Layou

Baking cookies together is one of our favorite traditions. Each year our tribe gets even more creative and enjoys creating their tray of masterpieces together. Even the grands did such a great job. The cookies turn out beautifully.

We made cookies together yesterday, but these pics feature our cookie making from 2018.

This was the first time making cookies in our new home. What a joy to have an island with space to spread out. Our oldest son's family brought their new puppy, so he added to the cuteness factor! The middle bottom picture (above) is my granddaughter seeing the brownie roll out cookie dough for the first time! Priceless reaction!!
Our family brings us such joy!! I'm so glad that they live within a 20 minute radius and we are able to hang out together about once a week! We are blessed! I know many grandparents are separated by such distances. It may not always be this way, so we treasure the time together.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today and checking out my Christmas layouts. I have a few more to share this week. Hope your week leading up to the celebration of our Savior's birth is blessed and safe.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "HOLLYWOOD"

A visit to Hollywood was never on my bucket list, nor am I a big fan of the entertainment industry in general. That said...we were so close to Hollywood we wanted to stop and check it out. It was definitely something to see.
We enjoyed checking out the stars on the Walk of Fame and trying to find a good place to snap a pic of the Hollywood sign.
The sidewalks and streets were wall-to-wall people at one point and I was literally starting to panic. Apparently there were some celebrities from Magic Mike who had just pulled up in limos. People were going crazy....ugh, not my thing at all, but it was all part of the experience.
Basic black cardstock was my best bet for the craziness of this page, because I definitely wanted the Hollywood title to be in white like the actual sign on the hill. The patterned paper and Washi are from Glitz Designs. I added a few more stars with some bling as embellishments. There are 12 pictures on this page!! Thank goodness for wallets! I could have used flip flaps on this page because we had so many pictures, but I just couldn't make it work with the design. So, I picked my favorite photos, took a deep breath, and told myself I didn't need to scrap every last one of them.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Zoo Day"

The Australian adventure is always a highlight of our local zoo. Scarlet really enjoyed watching the kangaroos hop around. So did Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Jacob!

The paper is StampinUp! The title font is Jubilee cartridge. I used the Fiskars border punch for the postage stamp look, and the SU decorative label punch to journal some of the high points on the photos. My favorite is the cute little kangaroo die cut (Zoobaloo?) and the butterfly ribbon on the left.
Wallets were very helpful again in capturing all of the memories and fitting them all in.  I can't help myself...there are just too many cute pictures of our day. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!!

Two 2 Page Layouts - "Birthday Bash" and "Family Ties"

Here's another birthday layout of my boys from August 2013. Keep in mind there are two birthday boys here, so I think I'm completely justified in scrapping three layouts of this joyous event. :) The other two are in the previous post.
These pictures are all about the cake and the gifts (and Scarlet) from two different celebrations. The first celebration was on their birthday with my oldest son and his family at our house, and the other in one of the study rooms at BSU.
The paper is My Minds Eye "20th Street Market" and Jen Wilson's "Breaking Free". The paper banner across the top is Basic Grey "Knee High and Bow Ties"...perfectly appropriate for two grown men, right?
The top layer of the tag was dry embossed and then chalked. The Birthday Bash title is cut with Cricut's "Birthday Bash".
I'm more than a year behind in posting layouts. These have been scrapped for months, but it takes me awhile to get them posted. Hopefully you share my opinion that it's never too late to share an idea.

This layout is from an early 80th birthday celebration with extended family for my sweet Momma. Her equally sweet sisters came from all over the country to celebrate this momentous occasion.
My Mom has Parkinson's, so if she doesn't look real perky here, you will understand that she was pretty worn out from all the excitement. I have loved seeing pictures through the years with her and her three sisters together. They are all such beautiful women, inside and out.
There are a ton of pictures (11 to be exact) and I struggled to get them all on and still have it look decent. It's probably too many, but they are all such precious memories. The bows were added to "tie" it all together with the title.
The SU patterned paper bows were Pinterest inspired and punched with an oval punch, then folded and notched to look like a bow.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. Have a productive day!! =)

Two Page Layout - "40 Years Together"

My husbands sister and brother-in-law celebrated 40 years of marriage last July. They celebrated with a wonderful garden party in their back yard. It was extra special, because they renewed their vows and had most of their wedding party with them to celebrate! Every milestone in marriage is worth celebrating!

Here is a layout of the happy couple and their celebration.
The outdoor decorations were beautiful! Hydrangeas and roses in Mason jars with red ribbon. Some were even hanging in the trees.
My family had such a great time celebrating with them and the rest of our extended family and friends. And, of course, there were yummy desserts which my grandbaby enjoyed very much.
I helped out with some of the decorations and with the guestbook. See the altered guest book, cup cake liner pompoms, and nametags here.

I'd love to hear how long you've been married. Can you beat 40 years? My husband and I will be married 29 years this December. I'm so blessed to live my life with him and I try not to take any of it for granted.

Two Page Layout - "Beach Bums"

Our family vacation to a beach house in St. Augustine was amazing! We brought home some spectacular beach pictures, and they were some of my favorite photos to scrap.
This gorgeous woodgrain heavy duty cardstock is Authentique Heidi Swapp. It was perfect for these sunshiny beach pictures of my precious family. The washi tape is Pink Paislee's "Indigo Bleu". I used a blue matt for the pictures in the center of the double layout and used Fiskar's postage stamp edge punch.
The gulls, pelican, and title came from Circuit's Life is a Beach cartridge. We saw so many pelicans, gliding along the shoreline. The lizards were entertaining and we even saw a few spiders, which I refuse to remember in a scrapbook page.
We had so many amazing pictures, that it was extremely hard to narrow down the ones I wanted to scrap. The grid design of this layout and varying the size and shape of the photos really helps to pack them in with style.
The Basic Grey circle banner was a cute nautical addition to the upper right corner of the layout.
The tags were from a sheet of miscellaneous tags in the DCWV travel stack. I used a hole punch and some twine to complete the layered look.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I'll be posting more layouts from our time in St. Augustine over the next few weeks.
