A few easy cards

It's snowing again here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The snow is very pretty and starting to accumulate and add to the few inches already on the ground. January is almost over already, so spring can't be too far away now. The older I get, the less I enjoy the cold, frozen tundra at this time of year.

A few weeks ago, I put a couple of cards together one evening. Since I haven't had much scrappy time lately, the cards are a nice little crafty "fix" for me. Thought I'd share these with you today.

First card is a Sympathy card. The image and sentiment stamps are both SU, and I used the Tim Holtz "Woodgrain" texture fade embossing folder. I am on a major TH embossing folder craze right now! He has some additional new folders coming out in a few months. I have almost every one of them and can't wait to buy the new ones! The designs are great and they make such a nice deep impression. I like the way the olive velvet ribbon ties it all together.

The second card is a baby card for some friends. The sentiment stamp is SU, and the image is from an acrylic set that has all kinds of images pertaining to babies. If somebody wants to know the brand, I can find it for you. I used an eyelet border punch on striped paper for another layer of color. The nifty striped canvas ribbon topped it off nicely attached with a staples.

I am super excited for tomorrow night! I'll be scrapping with some friends all Friday evening, and again all day on Saturday. Can't wait to share it all with you here later. ENJOY your weekend!

Denver layouts...I almost forgot about these

Where did the weekend go? I had a great time scrapbooking with my friend Jodi in Grand Rapids!!! When can we go again? I'm sure it will be awhile.

I was looking through my layouts to figure out what to post and realized that I hadn't posted these yet...So, today instead of finishing up on vacation layouts, I'm going to post these from Denver. The sales group from my department went to Denver in September for a conference. There was not much time to really see Denver, but I got a few pics for the scrapbook. Both of these sketches are my own. I didn't write down any of the supplies, but I think most of the paper is SU sweet pea collection.

The first is some random shots taken at the hotel and as we were driving downtown to go to dinner.

Right side....My favorite part of this really simple layout is the clouds that are popped up. =)

The second layout is from two different restaurants. I really wanted to separate these on the layouts so I pushed the first restaurant pics far left and the second one to the far right. I usually do 2 page layouts, so the tricky part was to put them together, but still separate them since the locations were different. The steakhouse was incredible. Great place for carnivores. The best meat ever!!!

Pop up fun!

I got to scrapbook Friday and Saturday! It was so great! Check back for some layout inspiration. I was just getting ready to upload and my hubs grabbed the camera from me (the nerve!) but I'll be uploading the photos a little later. In the meantime....I wanted to show you the cute little pop up card that I recently made at Angie Leach's Stamp Club.Everything is Stampin Up and the colors are very fresh and summery! It was really an easy card to make. It just looks complicated...I promise!

Here's the front of the card...Love these colors!

To get the pop ups in the middle you cut into the folded edge of the white lining of the card. Two cuts for each pop up that you want. Just be sure to make both cuts even and cut in the same distance from the fold.Then you fold the section to be popped the opposite direction as the rest of the card. Decorate it and voila!
