Celebrate - Two Page Hawaii Layout

We always try to end our agent trips with a spectacular, memorable event. Something they wouldn't likely be able to experience on their own. Our final gala dinner event was at the Iolani Palace! What an extraordinary venue!! Unfortunately, it rained and rather than dining in the open air courtyard, we had to rent a huge tent. It was still very beautiful and special!

 We used peacock feathers, white roses, and beautiful textured tablecloths for decor. The evening's dress code was sophisticated Black & White!! Everybody participated and showed up looking fabulous! I was able to save one of the menus and peacock feathers. Unfortunately, the real feathers didn't fare so well on the flight, so I made my own.

 It was super hot and humid (along with the rain) that night, so I looked pretty "moist" to say the least. Some how the picture of us still turned out okay.

The silver shimmer paper seemed perfect to highlight our special event. I was able to fit several photos on the page and still have enough room for the peacock feather embellishments and menu. I'm not sure if you can tell from the pic, but I covered the feathers with Wink of Stella for a little bit of glimmer. I didn't want to add another color as a shadow to the title, so I used vellum, which ended up looking like a real light gray...the perfect see through shadow.

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "My Brown Eyed Girl"

It's way past time to share this sweetness. Our granddaughter is now three years old, so this layout has been waiting a long time to be shared. Isn't she darling? Those eyes, that face....Yes, this Grandma loves her baby girl.

The flower embellishments are punched with various SU flower punches. Some of the layers are punched from vellum with brads and rhinestones for the flower centers.

 Oh my goodness!!! Cuteness alert!

 Multiple layers of matts help to highlight my favorite picture and the olive scalloped ribbon gives the page additional texture.

We'll have this little darling and her one-year-old baby brother next weekend so my son and daughter-in-law can spend some time away together celebrating their fifth anniversary. I'm so proud of this precious family.

Seattle - Space Needle

This is a layout that I did back in March, but have never posted until now. I guess it's because I don't love it. I did it at a crop I hosted where there were some ladies who were learning to scrapbook. I was answering a lot of questions and was never able to really get my creativity moving that day. Anyway, here it is. I hope you enjoy it.

The photos are from April 2009 when I accompanied my hubs to a business conference with another couple from work. We had a great time. I shopped while he attended seminars. =) Not a bad deal, except Seattle held true to its reputation and was a bit gloomy and rainy for most of the week. I'd love to go back again some day!

I think my favorite part of the layout is the paper...lovely and whimsical. The flower accents were cut with my Cricut. I believe the cartrudge was Accent Essentials. The flowers were cut in a series of rings which I alternated with the same paper on the layout and vellum, then doodled around them to help them sand out more. The title and portrait corners were done with Coredinations paper and was distressed a bit with sandpaper.

"Adore...Love One Another"

Had lots of fun scrapping Friday night and all day Saturday. We had a good turn out of ladies and we always have fun together. Then on Sunday, my family made the trip to my parent's house for a visit. It is so hard to see their health and mental capacity deteriorate. But it was so good to spend a day chatting and loving on them. It was a very full weekend and I didn't get much done around the house. =( Oh well, there is always another day for cleaning and laundry.
