Big News - One Page Newspaper Clipping Layout

Does anybody still get the newspaper? Probably not many get it every day, if at all, anymore. I know we don't. It was a hard sell to my husband to cancel the subscription, but he finally realized he didn't really have the time to read it.

Back in 2017, our then 4 year old granddaughter made the newspaper!!! It was pretty exciting, of course! This was actually the second time she made the newspaper. She's that awesome!

I wanted to preserve the article for future generations to see, but it was hard to come up with an idea of how to best use it in a my scrapbook album, but I thought this turned out cute. Maybe this will give you an idea, just in case you still have any old newspaper articles waiting to be scrapped.

This layout was created quite awhile ago. My creative skills have improved since then, but bare with me as I post an oldy but a goody!

Isn't she just adorable?!? The joy on her face makes me smile. And...who wouldn't love to have some of this 76 degree weather right now??

The heart patterned paper made a good backdrop for the article. I matted the article twice, and lined it up with some striped ribbon, and a strip of washi tape below. The puffy clouds were inked around the edges and added above, because that's where clouds belong. 😂 The ribbon flower was purchased by the yard and cut apart for a birthday banner that I made for the same sweet baby girl. I added a few quote strips, pennants, and strips of paper, and boom...this BIG news article was preserved for future generations.

Hope this inspires you to do something crafty with your old news clippings! Good luck!

Two Page Scrapbook Layout - "Woodland Princess"

Here's another layout of my beautiful grand daughter for her fourth birthday photo shoot. I typically will scrap a double layout for her book, as well as for mine. That is why you see so many layouts of the same pictures! Sometimes I use the same basic layout design, and other times I completely mix it up. I almost always use different paper, though.
Of course, she had a few outfits to use, which means I need to capture all of the outfits on layouts! :) I love this beautiful little dress and how she flows (and glows) in it.
I loved the butterflies, dragonflies and mushrooms with the layout and the paper. It's a simple layout, but I love the feel of it...and the gorgeous baby girl is what makes it amazing!
She melts my heart and I literally can't stop looking at her! Love her zest for life!
I used a little Wink of Stella on the mushrooms because all mushrooms should be shimmery, right?

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I have another Woodland Princess layout that I will be sharing tomorrow!

Two Page Layout - "Munch Time"

How about another grandbaby layout? Our grandkids are my favorite people to scrap, of course. Here's a layout of her just being totally cute eating a snack.
These pictures were taken in October of 2013. The paper is My Minds Eye "The Sweetest Thing" and Basic Grey "Life of the Party". Both are very appropriate lines of paper to use for this little cutie!
The brad is MME "Collectable" and of course the fringe scissors make a cute little ruffle border at the bottom. The layered die cuts are also MME "The Sweetest Thing".
Thanks for checking out my blog today!.

I will be in California for business and vacation in a few weeks, so I'm trying to schedule some blog posts out into the future. I'm really hoping to be more consistent with my posts. I enjoy blogging, but there are times I struggle to keep up with it. Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Two Page Layout - "MDP"

I wanted to share this layout from a special ministry I help with at our church called Modern Day Princess. We work with young ladies who want to grow their relationship with Christ and learn their full potential as a Daughter of the King.
Aren't they beautiful young ladies? I am very proud of them and honored to serve as their table leader. Even though this was my third time through the class, I continue to learn more about scripture and God's love for us, each time.
The paper is Creative Imaginations "Iron Orchid Designs". I love the whimsical look. The diecut framing the title is cut from Once Upon a Princess cartridge. I purchased the key with the crown at Michaels.
The washi tape is from Meijer and I added a few My Minds Eye brads and added journalling along the curve of the flower stems.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a productive day!
