Road Home - Two Page Hawaii Scrapbook Layout

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Spring is coming, and I'm so grateful for the warmer temps. I've been really busy at work, and at home. Gosh...I need a nap!!! But I decided to take time to squeeze in a quick Hawaii post for a little inspiration.

As I mentioned in our last post, we took the sketchy road home from Hana. We had a jeep, so why not? We were not the only tourists taking this route, and I was grateful to see a few other cars on the road. It's hard to see from these pics, but there wasn't much of a road for a little while. It was starting to rain, making the super narrow little roads even more treacherous. But, we made it through and the views along the way were so unique and breathtaking.
I quite often make a grid with my pictures. Mainly because it allows me to fit a lot of them on a page, but also because I think it makes it easier, at least for me.
I cut the road signs on Cricut and popped them up. The palm branches and clear pearls that look like water droplets were just enough with the large scale palm pattern paper on the left.
Hope this layout inspires you in some way! Have a blessed week!!

Wanderlust - Two Page Maui Scrapbook Layout

The sun is shining brightly here in northeast Indiana. People are calling it "fake spring"😆. Even though it won't last, it's beautiful to feel the sun shining in through the windows. It won't be long, now...Spring is on it's way.

In the meantime, let's enjoy some more calming scenes from Maui! 😎 Remember what I said about the Road to Hana? The road back is also a beautiful adventure! We continued northeastward around the bottom tip of the island. All of the signs instruct you to go back the way you came, but...we wanted a new adventure. The woodgrain paper had the perfect colors to accentuate the landscape. All of the browns, golds, greens and blues make a beautiful background. The washi tape is from another brand, but worked worked well with it, adding a little extra detail. The title was cut with images from Design Space, along with the little wisps of field grasses.

The rustic road signs are also from Design Space. I let Cricut write the "Road Less Travelled", but wrote the others myself and freehanded the highlights on sign posts. I'm pretty happy with the way this layout turned out. It sure makes me want to go back!!
Thanks for stopping my blog today!! Hope you are enjoying some sunshine in your corner of the world!

Road to Hana - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Time to dream of paradise! The Road to Hana is more of a journey than a destination. The adventure of the skinny, winding road where there is barely enough room for only one vehicle at a time. The waterfalls, bridges and cliffs at almost every turn. The scenery and foliage bursting with every color of green imaginable. You must start very early so that you will have time to stop, get out, explore, and take pictures, and still have time to drive back in daylight. Getting back in daylight is really, really important. Take my word for it. You do not want to be on that adventure at night!

The watercolor patterned paper reminded me of the waterfalls and it pairs nicely with the blue tropical patterned foliage strip! I embellished the layout with road signs made of Kraft cardstock with white lettering, fern leaves, and highway (Road Trip) sign. The strip of wording along the bottom was cut from the bottom of the 12 x 12 paper. It worked as a nice little detail.
As always, I layered the embellishments in groups of three (odd number) forming a triangle on my page to help draw the eyes across the page. The three pops of bright green leaves help bring out all the greens in the pictures.
Hope you enjoyed this little daydream in paradise! I have several more Hawaii layouts to share, so please come back soon!
