Birthday Girl - Two Page Scrapbook Layout

Today, is this young ladies 11th birthday! We are so blessed to have her as our one and only granddaughter...so far. She is the first girl in our family. I raised two boys, so my DIL's and granddaughter are very special to me. And, this little girl brought all the sugar, spice and everything nice into my life. I love who she is becoming!!

This layout is from her 8th birthday!!

So far, she wants to be a Mommy when she grows up. I love that idea, but I hope she takes her time and enjoys figuring out who she is between now and then and follows whatever plans the Lord has for her. I'm sure she will be amazing at whatever she decides to do in life. She is tough and has had to push through a lot lately.
Again, I used a few different patterned papers. They are probably from different sets, because that's how I roll.  This was a pretty simple layout, but my favorite part  is that big smile o her face!
Happy birthday, dear Scarlet! We love you so very much and are so proud of you!

Living the Life - Two Page Hawaii Scrapbook Layout

One of our favorite mornings in Maui was making our breakfast together and eating it on the lanai. Wish we could wake up to a view like that every day, but what a blessing to enjoy it for a week!!!

I found this beautiful watery paper to use as my background and cut a solid minty green, and a smaller, less busy pattern with words and leaves for a nice contrast to layer with the photos. Even pulled out my corner rounder for the first time in a very long time. The soft edges were fun for a change. As always, I matted the photos with white to help them pop off the page. My Cricut drew and cut the Maui banner. I love instant embellishments that I can size perfectly and match to my page. 😍
I added a little chipboard banner and some striped washi to direct the eye across the layout. I thought the dolphins were a fun little last minute add to balance the pages.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today for another Hawaii scrapbook share! Come back soon!

Two Cruise layouts - "Putt Putt" and "Bon Voyage"

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary almost three years ago now. Such amazing memories!! Every time I look at my scrapbook, I just want to escape with my hubby again.

I am officially finished scrapping all of the cruise pictures, but I still haven't shared them all...so here we go.

"Putt Putt": Have you ever played miniature golf on the top deck of a cruise ship? It was super windy that day, but gorgeous. It was a little tricky since we didn't have our "sea legs" yet.
The colors really draw me in and they remind me of the beautiful view of sky and ocean we had from every hole on this course. This sketch is one I found online by Amy Alvis. The paper is Bazzill, Coredinations, and Heidi Swapp "No Limits". The cute green circle border at the top was made with a border punch from EK.
All of the ribbon is from Making Memories.
I love this picture of my husband posing with the statue of the really giant woman! Too cute.

"Bon Voyage": You really can't scrapbook a cruise without using this title at least once. These pictures were taken our first evening on the ship. We knew we were off on a great adventure together. This was our first cruise, so everything was new and exciting from the curly paper on the straw to the live music on deck.
The paper is Jen Wilson's "Breaking Free" and Moxie "Maiden Voyage". The title was cut with Cricut's Life is a Beach cartridge. I hope I get to use this again some day...soon!
It's a little bit difficult to see the metal embellishments (Momenta), but they were a nice addition to the page. The journaling tag is from We R Memory Keepers "Great Escape".
Here's a close up of the journaling.
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a fantastic weekend. I'm scrapping again! Anybody else??

Two Page Layout - "Squeaky Clean" and lively lantern redo

Summer is back for a few days. Hope you are enjoying your air conditioning like I am.

I spent the last few days photographing layouts, uploading, and editing. Wow! I have many layouts to share with you. It's been awhile since I posted a grandbaby layout. Here's a bath layout of our sweet Scarlet Rose. I'm probably not sharing her layouts in chronological order, but this one grabbed me today.
All of the patterned paper is from a stack of Martha Stewart baby girl paper that I picked up for a song at Meijer. I keep reminding myself I need to use the baby paper as much as possible, because she's growing up so quickly.
I cut big chunky letters and layered together little yellow ducks and dry embossed them both in the Cuddlebug for additional texture.
This was probably the last time we bathed her in the kitchen sink. She is big enough to splash and play in the bathtub now. We are so blessed to have her. Little girls are so much fun!

Since we're having such a great summer day, I'll share a recent spray paint project. I had three matching neutral metal lanterns on my porch that were pretty boring.
After cleaning out the old wax, I cleaned them up and sanded them a little bit on all of the painted surfaces, and wiped them down with a damp cloth....Spray painting is so much fun! These lanterns got a major rebirth in three eye-popping colors.
The blue is actually more of a teal color. Not sure why it looks blue here. I love the little battery operated flickering candles...No more dirty old wax to scrape out.
It all started with this clearance rug from Walmart. The porch looks so much livelier and we've been spending more time out there since we gave it an inexpensive facelift with accessories.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!

Three Double Scrapbook Layouts - "Extravaganza", "Fun in the Sun", and "Extreme"

Blogging is great fun for me; however, photographing all of my layouts, is not my favorite part. Recently I had a 3" stack of layouts waiting to be photographed. I got through them this weekend, so I now have plenty to post and can hopefully get my layouts into albums.

Our 25th anniversary cruise is my latest FINISHED album! Yay! Our 25th was December, of 2010. Flipping through the album brought back so many great memories of our time away together!! It spurs me on to get the rest of my layouts into their appropriate albums where they are protected and easy to enjoy.

Here are a few more cruise layouts. The first one is titled "Extravaganza" featuring the infamous midnight extravaganza buffet. Great fun and food! (left)
With all of the color in these pics, there weren't a lot of embellishments needed.
Two Page Layout:

Next is "Fun in the Sun" from our stop at the Tortuga Rum Company where we sampled and purchased some rum cakes. They have a beautiful location right on the beach.

I love the fun Fancy Pants "Beach Babe" paper.

 Two Page Layout:
And last but not least, "Extreme". This is certainly not my favorite layout. I'd much rather be looking at the sand and surf, than these parched and desolate scenes, but I felt the need to scrap it all. =)
I had fun making the layered road sign with my Cricut "Dude" cartridge.
I used Coredinations (black with green) cardstock and sanded it just enough so the green shows through. The flames and title work are also from "Dude". The post office frame is from "Art Philosophy".

Two Page Layout:

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I will be posting more cruise layouts over the next few weeks. You can type "cruise" into the search box if you'd like to check out the other layouts from our cruise.
