Happy St. Patrick's Day! Spring is coming, and I'm so grateful for the warmer temps. I've been really busy at work, and at home. Gosh...I need a nap!!! But I decided to take time to squeeze in a quick Hawaii post for a little inspiration.
As I mentioned in our last post, we took the sketchy road home from Hana. We had a jeep, so why not? We were not the only tourists taking this route, and I was grateful to see a few other cars on the road. It's hard to see from these pics, but there wasn't much of a road for a little while. It was starting to rain, making the super narrow little roads even more treacherous. But, we made it through and the views along the way were so unique and breathtaking. I'm literally running out of descriptive words to use for the photos in my Hawaii layouts!! There should be more words for such beauty.
I love the fun distressed tropical paper that I used on top of the white 12x12 cardstock. As you can see, the picture I took of the layouts ended up crooked. It's hard to tell there is a white border all the way around the layout, but trust me. The title is from Cricut Design Space. I like the compass in place of the "O". Perfect for a beautiful day exploring.

Time for some more sunshine?
One of our daily explorations led us to this amazing site! We had no idea what we'd find as we drove along the beautiful coastline, taking in all the sites, and hoping to find a restroom. I was getting a little worried about the restroom since we were in the middle of an extraordinarily beautiful "nowhere".Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Hope your week is going well!
Hello on this happy first day of December!! Can you believe it? This year has seemed so long and hard, but some how it has flown for me. Here we are 24 days from Christmas. Ready or not, it is coming.
I'm still enjoying sharing all of my layouts from our amazing Hawaii trip last year. It's time to share some more sunshine with you.
I used a large floral tropical paper from Kaiser Craft's "Paradise Found" collection for the background and added a layer of a peach which had a much smaller pattern to highlight the photos also from Kaiser Kraft "On this Day". I almost always matt all of my photos. It makes them pop off the patterned papers that I love to use. I used some orange travel washi and journaling cards and chipboard (WeRMemory Keepers "Jet Set") tucked under the tape along with small title letters with woodgrain design.
Time to share a sunny and fun layout! These pictures are from our first full day on Maui. We ventured out in the rental jeep to take in all of the sites as we drove up the west coast. We found extraordinary beauty at every bend in the road!!
The color of the water and the sky, the sun and the greenery...it's all amazing! You really need to go! I want to go back already.
I love this tropical paper. I only had one sheet, so I cut off the floral border on the top and the bottom and used them both on each side at the top of my layout. I added a coordinating woodgrain with hints of light blue on the bottom. The title and leaves were cut with my Cricut and the mini flowers were punched with StampinUp punch and topped with a tiny pearl in the center.
This was our first night in Maui. We found this beach to watch the sunset! I'm sure there is not a bad place to watch a Maui sunset, but this was one of our favorites!!
